Ask your barber use a #2, even all over.

1. Wash your hair with cold water. Ice cold. As cold you can take it.
2. Use this shampoo. They got it at walmart. Rinse, lather, repeat about 3 times.
3. Use this conditioner. The got it at walmart. Leave it in for about 10-15 minutes and wash it out with the ice cold water.
4. Blot dry your hair, but leave it a lil damp.
5. Use the SOFT crown quality product brush. Located here. If its sold out, see if they have a retailer in your area.
It's expensive for a brush, but it's very very efficient, especially if you follow the previous steps. Waved up top & in the back instantly, the sides came in after a day or two. Everything connected in about a week. This is after I left the waves alone for a few years and decided to start em back up.
6. You can either brush your hair dry or brush it until it's a little less damp and proceed to #7.
7. Put in this product. Please only use a dime sized amount, not a lot. Again, don't use a lot.
8. Brush until u get tired.
9. This step is optional, but click on the link in #5 & cop the most expensive one. That's premium one and its even softer than the "soft" brush. Use this brush as a "finisher" brush and brush until you're tired.
10. Wrap it up with a durag & go about your day.

Only use that conditioner once a week. May seem like a lot, but it aint. Pic of me below.

When I found out that Diane stopped making the old school brushes I went crazy I got enough og 8119s to last me a life time. I have cqp brushes but after using og Diane brushes nothing feels the same

Any tips on spacing waves out? I use a comb, wolfed a while, and had good results on the back and sides of my head but still have a lot of waves on the top instead of bigger spaced out ones. I heard it was a texture thing, but not sure why i cant get the top to match the rest.

Don't use that herbal essences crap on your hair. Find you a good shampoo without SLS in it, I recommend shea moisture & moisturize with unrefined coconut oil. Also heard very good things about cold label products.

flyny flyny as far as moisturizer...I used the hair butter by whipped goods....I'm peeping the thread for stuff to actually purchase and use...& they sell that coconut oil at Walmart, right..??..

methods and products all depend on your hair texture, the only universal advice is keep brushing and keep your scalp clean & moisturized..

When I was deep into it my moisturizers were carrot/olive cream and i used a 8118, 8169, palm verison of the 8169 and a hard joint for when i was wolfin

Deep conditioned like twice a week with olive oil conditioner. (It's usually available at wal-mart/walgreens for 2.99). Washed my hair with some Organix or creame of nature shampoo... Try to avoid stuff heavy on chemicals, sulfates and all that other non sense.

When I was growing my hair out I mainly used Black soap as my shampoo and it worked better than anything else plus it's basically as natural as you can get.

Just to critique the post on the last page i'd like to point out that there isn't any real benefit from washing your hair in cold water or doing "rinse, lather, repeat"

Warm water opens your pores and helps your get the dirt out of there... You should rinse with cold water though because closes your pores and seals the moisture in. And washing your hair 3 times is just a waste of product.

cut my hair earlier this week so i could get my waves back :lol
