JD UK exclusives in mid 2000s nicknamed "Portlands" and featured a weird "puffy" swoosh with extra red laces.
There was another pair with similar colour blocking but colours to represent a different NBA team which I can't remember

Ive gone through 2 pairs and still got 1 on ice…air units probaly busted. Jd sports really came w some heat in the early 2000s with their colorways. I remeber a white/blck mid that came out during their run that i always wanted. Never found em

Ha...this thread is taking me back down memory lane. JD Sports, Matrix Euros, man...I think I had at least 200 pairs of AF1s and I don't know if I had more than 2 or 3 pairs of "GRs". ISS forums, Uptowns.Net, etc... Those gum midsole AF1s are some of the most beautiful shoes I've ever seen.

Damn that's a good question. Woven cotten...ehhh. You're right, I've never seen one like that other than the JD sports.

Not from NYC, but that NYC logo was crucial. I remember having the navy blue and red jewel, mids. (There was a time when Highs, Mids, and Lows always got rocked) I had the matching shirt. I was so fresh 10th grade year, lol. It was 1994 going into 95.

Detailed shots of my Birthday AF1s with colours chosen by family

Brother's name appears on box instead of mine as I had them sent to him since I would be abroad on delivery date

Better quality materials than most general releases imo
Sail base (my choice) with pink foam laces (sister)

University gold swoosh (mum) with game royal embroidered accent (brother)

Gum sole (my choice)

Backtab logo and "FAMILY" text in university red to represent blood (sounds good but not actually true - other sister's colour choice lol)

Decided to switch insoles and noticed the upper to strobel board stitching is volt

Not bought any AF1s for over 15 years so went with previous size which fit slightly too big and these are the same.
However, adding an insole with forefoot and heel zoom units from the flightposite 2 make these more comfortable and fit perfect!

FYI if you wanted, you could return the ID order and make another order in a half size down

Knew the list was gonna be trash when they started off by basically calling the black lows trash... They further cemented their terrible list by not having the all whites as number 1. I'm convinced they make these lists bad on purpose.
