I believe the oranges are supposed to be a retro. They changed the box in honor of that retro.

Oranges are the only recent COTM I've picked up so I can't be sure if this is the box they will use moving forward.

Also orange jewels are really dope in hand (for under 100). I usually hate the jewel forces but those have me tempted to get the yellows when those eventually drop and hit sale.

Grey suede jewel pair are the same way. No anniversary tag and same box. I’m assuming the tag was only reserved for all the pairs that dropped in 2022 for obvious reasons.

Under Armour made a mismatched collab a few years ago, but due to their manufacturing process they had to make two different SKU and swap one of the shoes prior to retail. I also can’t stand mismatched shoes so I tracked down two pairs with opposite lefts and rights so I could make two matching pairs.

As was said the boxes were intended to represent the era. The black box is what Nike used 96-99 when the jewels originally debuted. The orange box was used 2000-2006.

Also, none of the pairs released in 2023 have had the Anniversary tongue.
