A recent trip to a low key footaction around the way. Only posting so I can read negative comments as usual.

shoes provide a better value.

Depends on the shoes and lifestyle of the person who is wearing them.

Assuming most people work at least 40 hours a week, that will be where they spend the bulk of their time outside of the house (possibly 2nd to working out, if they live an active lifestyle). In my office (and in a lot of other offices) wearing sneakers would not be appropriate at all (suit and tie culture). Also, even in offices where sneakers are appropriate, I highly doubt most people are wearing $200+ sneakers.

I will give you that while people gain and lose weight (mostly gain because of obesity and body-positive culture here in the US, at least), the size of your feet will be consistent.
 
They're dope but i just don't think they're worth that 1k and change

I absolutely feel it. For me personally, even if it's a pair I feel like I NEED, I can't do more than $600 or so. If a pair hits $1K, it wasn't meant to be for me personally.
