Also I'm not sure why y'all are acting like hype doesn't matter to JB. We see them do fake sellouts on every other snkrs release to make certain releases look more sought after than they actually are.
We never said it didn't. But hype only matters if it's making them money.
What good is hype if it isn't helping the bottom line?

Making the Breds limited won't make these sell.
Hype, demand, and profit are all intertwined. There's little to no hype around JB right now so they're playing the long game... Make a few of your most sought after shoes limited to create the illusion of hype, yes you're missing out on short term profits but if all goes to plan, JB should be in a much better position in a year or 2. Personally, I wouldn't do it this way but this is the strategy they seem to be going with

Why not just make better quality releases across the board? You can lower stock so things don’t rot but also space out release and at least make enough that things decently sellout.Hype, demand, and profit are all intertwined. Military Blue 4s from last year are a good example-widely available but still sold well.

Do we know the production number for the 2020 AM90/AMIII infrared? Getting that OG shape was likely similar in effort to the work put in on these black and reds. They could be acquired for a few days after RD, but dried up pretty quickly. And that model doesn't haver near the same popularity. I bet it was way more than 10K.
Even if they made 50K of these, it would still be pretty near impossible to get. Maybe at 100K we might have had a chance but they'd still sell out instantly. i.e. They certainly could produce a lot more of these and get the exact same hype effect; money left on the table for sure.

Seeing the new Black/Reds back to back with the OGs really takes them down a notch. The previous 85 shape was already pretty good, if these really are shorter than the remasterds that's a big miss by the designers.

My Travis Kelce comment was a little tongue in cheek, but I’m sure that Jordan Brand is going to go out of their way to make sure that the right celebrities get these. The “right celebrities” being those who appeal to teenagers and young adults in their early 20s.
That’s what drives a lot of hype for the TikTok generation.
