na , they're cutting corners. same reason they give us smaller swoosh and one less eyelet.

sidenote..these have quickly become my grab and go. dawn soap and a scrub and they look new again

It's amazing how much better the lows look with the elephant print compared to the highs. Even those did grow on me, but the low's are a must "try" status.
