Think its from the other shoes sole rubbing onto it. Best way to clean this withot damaging the base material?

I usually just use a suede gum eraser for that kind of stuff...

Soap and water? You really wont damage the mudguard unless the scuff scratched into the material too.

Take some soap and water and gently scrub with a magic eraser

looks like they have a solid black outsole tho, Nike could have gone and colorblocked them the same as 95s
