Official Authentic OTHER Sports Jersey Post Vol. Not NBA

It's weird sometimes what makes you want certain jerseys. Been wanting this one since seeing it in one of the best episodes of X-Files "The Unnatural". Finally got it from EFF. Kinda baggy for an XL, but still happy to have it.

Nice! I've always liked the font.

I compiled a list of what manufacturer each team had their jersey deal with (as accurately as I could) going back to 1988 in most cases.

I was also considering making similar lists for when teams wore printed jerseys or sewn ones and also what season teams wore patches on their jerseys for anniversaries, memorial, special events, etc...

football ones is so confusing....
I've gotten the point now where I can pretty much tell who made a jersey just by the subtle differences in the fonts they use.
Russell, Wilson & Sand-Knit all have different versions of 'Pro Block'.

Won the blank on eBay for $30, and had Cosby's do the rest. Im leaving the mlb logo alone. Majestic made removing them crazy hard

Nicely done. Where is Cosbys and how much did they charge you?

Im in Queens, NY and Stitches (located in Whitestone, NY) charges $60 for name and number on the back.

They used to be inside the Madison Square Garden atrium, but now they're on 31st between 6th and 7th. They charge me pretty decent since I been shopping there since High School, but standard pricing is $50 for full set single layer, $65 for two color full set, and $75+ for three or more layer tackle twill full set. If it's Yankees home jerseys, it's just $5 per number, and Red Sox home and Yankees Road jerseys, or any jersey that has no name on the back is $10 per number

This is now the heaviest jersey I own, by far.
I present my 1989 game issued Marion Butts jersey.
Ironically, it's the home jersey of a team that plays in southern California made of thick durene...with long sleeves...and a thermal handwarmer pouch.
You know, for those late season games when the temperature can drop to a bone chilling 65 degrees. Lol
It makes for a nice looking rare jersey though and quality wise tops the Starter Steeler durenes and the early US made M&Ns too.

From his rookie season (love it when teams use year swatches) when he rushed for 176 against a D. Thomas/Neil Smith led Chiefs defense.
Marion Butts was never a superstar but he made the Pro Bowl twice, leading the league in rushing yards/game and also averaged a pretty impressive 4.6 a carry.
Plus there was that Biggie line,
"Never marryin'/
what for?/
when you're/
rubbin' more, butts than Marion"
butts back 50.jpg

Ok, I made that last part up but it seems like something he would have said. Lol
Don't mind me, functioning on not much sleep today.

Fun Fact: Butts, along with Seau, were the first players in league history to wear captain's patches, way back in 1992.

WOW I've never seen a jersey like that Butts! So far past the 70s and still long sleeve and Durene WITH the modifications. Crazy good pickup !!

Thanks.
The fact that it's such a heavy and "warm weather" jersey in the home color of a team that plays a few miles from the Pacific ocean makes it even better/ rarer imo.
I don't how many true durene (not just poly) jerseys you have seen in person either but they are so nice with than sheen/shine to them.

Been wanting a Browns jerseys for a few years now for some reason. I'll never get one but I love them.

thank you patchcollection.com for the 30% off and free shipping. I'll be putting the 50th anny on the santana jersey.
MLB PATCHES.jpg

Has anyone ever ironed on these patches to their jersey? I want to know if I can use regular printing paper as the barrier for the iron.

There will be a hard plastic backing on retail patches. You will have to remove that first and then sew it on.

Directions can probbaly be found on youtube. I usually boil mine and slowly pick off the plastic a little at a time with a fork or tweezer.

Youre correct in that there is a hard plastic on the back. I've seen a few youtube videos and theyve ironed it straight out the packaging. The same patches ive got. I'm going to try it that way. I have about 3 or 4 patches I want to do and if I can save myself time & money by ironing it myself, then I will.

Thanks for the reply.

On another note, I came across this for $20 shipped. I couldnt pass.

Are you going to try to iron it one WITH the backing? That won't work.

When a patch is iron on, it's because there is an adhesive on the patch itself. Sometimes if you have a vintage patch or team-issued patch, you can do this, as there is no plastic backing.

If you need more help after trying it out, feel free to PM me.

My favorite of the bunch, Carnell Lake's jersey worn during the 'Battle of the Gridiron Stars' Pro Bowl event following his 1st Team All-Pro 1997 season...

I never knew that there were team issued jerseys that had durene sleeves only.
The patch is also made of felt, which I had also never seen before this jersey.

I also picked up 7 durenes to customize, 5 Sand-Knits (3 black/2 white) and 2 white Starters.
Plus a regular black mesh Starter with durene shoulders/sleeves only.

I just really started focus on Steeler jerseys last year but here's a group shot, minus probably 4 or 5...
