...Official BLACKBERRY Thread v.updated...

I'm waiting on the javelin to drop for T-Mobile.

Hopefully my curve holds up 'til then...

Read a couple reviews on the Storm, and it's not very positive- lots of complaints about the touchscreen and the slow OS. I'm still gonna stop intoVerizon to check it out, but at this point I might pass on it.

Got the storm on friday after not taking no for an answer...they had a few phones and were just tryna get rid of people saying they would refund the money oryou can wait until next tues- i wouldn't accept that answer...I had to argue with like 2 people one was cool the other was a jerk....in the end they saidthey would refund my money over the phone so i wouldnt go down there
laugh.gif
i was likenaw...i'll be there...couple mins later i get a call that my phone is ready to go-

i knew they had a few in the back holding for friends etc....apparently the one black dude that worked there looked out for me and gave me "erics"phone...i guess he understood the meaning of "I'll be down there"
laugh.gif
theother Sales associate was mad and kept asking him if he was supposed to sell "erics phone" but he was like this dude was on the list, one of the 1stand we guaranteed him the phone so its only right

I just hope that with the Bold and Storm out of the way, a lot more info on the Javelin starts leaking very soon. The Storm is so damn tempting, but the Jav is what I really want.
Not going to happen, I guarantee it. The BlackBerry Bold is the new flagship phone for RIM. Both the Curve8900 & the Bold have their pros andcons which makes for good versatility for consumers. However, if they put 3G on the Curve8900... then that would be the clear-cut winner when trying to decidewhich phone to get and makes the Bold no-longer the flagship phone. The Curve8900 will DEFINITELY have EDGE on it. Besides, it's supposed to be exclusiveto T-Mobile first so I'm hoping it drops in December. It will eventually be released on AT&T (without 3G of course) but likely in March of '09, or3 months after it releases on T-Mobile.

well said............youre right

I have a couple questions.

I want a BB Storm, but am currently with Sprint. Is there anyway I can buy the Storm and have it activated for Sprint?

If not, how much are you guys paying per month for Verizon service with unlimited e-mail/internet, unlimited texting, and also like 450 minutes?

Lastly, are there any new BB's coming out for Sprint next year?

I pay $70 all in and get basically U/L everything (2500 texts, 6 GB data are limits I'll never reach even if I tried)...Rogers Wireless in Canada.

Personally I like using the holster or the silicone skin. I woulda loved a leather clip-less sleeve like the Curves came with for my Bold, but right nowI'm using the black silicone skin so I can just throw it in my pocket.

Definitely get a screen protector for any new, high-end phone though. The case you use is really up to you, have you use/carry it and what you prefer stylewise.

I finally got a chance to stop in @ Verizon and check out the Storm-def. has its pros and cons. Surprisingly, I didn't have a problem typing on the Storm-I managed to type a lot more accurately on it than on my friend's iphone. Wasn't too impressed by the clicking keyboard, it's just aiight. Thescreen is real nice for watching video and the speaker is DUMB loud, my girlfriend was a couple feet away when I turned it up and she was like,"DAMN!" It is a bit slow to respond to commands, but not annoyingly so. Then again, after using one for a couple weeks it might get to be an issue ifRIM doesn't address it soon. One thing I didn't like is navigating through the menus when you click the BB key, don't know if it's that I'd have to spend more time with it than just toying with a display model, but I just think that the trackball is a lot more efficient/accurate. I'll bepassing on the Storm and just pick up a Curve to replace my 8830WE.

I'm also thinking of grabbing a curve. Was playing around on one at T-Mobile yesterday and I think it's pretty cool. Anyone know of any cons to theCurve?

I pay 59 all in. Unlimted Text (incoming and outgoing) unlimited data (web, Pin, email; no restrictions on web browsing)

Telus in Canada

i dont know fam - i mean you have to remember with blackberrys theres alot of memory clog- so that joint you were using has been messed with by abunch of people before you just adding to that log- plus its still an early version and the next revision should run smoother-

again my make/break it was the typing and i'm getting real good with that...everything else is expected - with the curve i had to clear the memory log acouple times a week and i didnt have anything extra on the phone and had a 2gig card in it...

the programs dont really "close" when you come out of them so imagine how many people before you tried every app on the phone....

i've been with Sprint since September of 2000. my contract just ended on Nov. 20th, so i had the opportunity to either leave Sprint and my 8830 behind, orre-sign
and wait for the new BlackBerry that will be available at Sprint which is going to be the BlackBerry Niagra (at least that's what it's called rightnow).

i went with the Storm since Verizon is CDMA like Sprint. i called to see if they would activate it, and they told me they wouldn't.
i ended up taking it back to Verizon for reasons i detailed in this post earlier. the Storm was very difficult to use for me.

i finally got a Bold through AT&T and couldn't be happier with it.

had a chance to play with the storm as well, a little buggy but a upgraded os should fix that. I like it and will probably com even though the niagra is comingout soon.

Option > status > pin That's how you figure out what your Pin is..

is there a way to make it so that everytime i send an email from my BB, it doesnt automatically send me a copy of it? i been looking around and don't seeany options. it's just annoying that everytime i send an email, i get a copy of it 2 seconds later
