I have a blackberry storm from verizon that I absolutely HATE, this morning my neighbor gave me his old BB 8830 world edition because he is switching to cricket

, anyways can I just pop out my verizon sim card from the storm and putit in the 8830 and have it work or is there more steps I need to take?

People said they added me to their BB messenger contact list but I never got it. And I added a few people who said they never got it as well. %$$ is goingon

Nevermind, not sure what i just did but I figured it out. You may need to register for the network.

sounds like your internet isn't provisioned correctly.

you'll have to call your providor to get them to set you up again.

once your internet is working properly, the browser icon will pop up on the HOME screen. BlackBerry Messenger uses your internet/data plan, also. this is whythey haven't received your requests and you haven't received theirs.

highly doubtful. the 9700 is a GSM phone. Sprint is CDMA.

based on the review by BGR, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to make it CDMA.
 
im a bit slow, but what does GSM/CDMA stand for...?
ive been wondering about this for a while since i saw that tmobile taking over sprint article.
and im not feeling the chrome side on the upcoming bb...maybe its me though.

GSM = Sim cards (T-Mobile/AT&T)
CDMA = ESN (Sprint/Verizon)

I only haven't upgraded because BBM5 doesn't work with it. How is .230 thou?
 
I just recently got a BB Pearl. Does that make me a !++%%?? It was free


And can someone school me on this whole BBM ##@$. I wanna dabble in that realm.
