*Official* Casino Gambling thread

Happens to the best of us J. My boy was up bout 4 stacks in blackjack ended up leaving ONLY up a 300

If I was up that much I would've had to leave with atleast a rack..

So me and my 4 buddies are going to LV for the first time, all of us, on Oct 16.

What's the best Sportsbook for us to go to on Sunday?

Aria is the front runner right now.

NL Hold 'Em here. Most recently played 1/2 at Caesar's for my birthday. Came out +225.

Doubled up on K/4 off, top pair on the flop. Other player stone cold bluffed. I shoved.

Lost a big hand 9/9 to K/8 off.

Also play at Parx and Sands.

Everyone rooting for JC in the NN?

Won pretty big last Thursday, went back to the Casino yesterday for my brothers bday and lost it all :smh:

Seems every time we make advanced plans to go out we lose, but if it is last minute normally I win.

I am done for a while though

Parx regular here. 1-2/tournament specialist. So far i think i have roughly 10-12k in tournament earnings and usually run deep in the daily's...just been dissappointed with bigstax series. Especially this upcoming one. If you feel like going up next week hit me up. And although ive been watching the WSOP since 2002 (also watched stu ungar in the older years) i cant really imagine jc winning it. I like Jc, but ive been following Jay Farber from the moment he was playing roulette a few days b4 the M.E started (instagram/twitter) and to actually see his progress to the FT was something crazy. Dont think these guys all get that money like that tho lol. Dan bilzerian had a nice piece of jay and dude is a multi-millionaire. But it sure is fun to see.

Played at MD Live a few times now. First time playing live.

It goes from a game of skill to being just a game of patience when you go from online to live. The stories of how bad people are is true.

Up ~700 in my 3 trips there. Played 1/2 twice and 2/5 once.

Johnny: My buddy's also a regular at Parx for the Big Stax events.

I was considering to play a Super Satellite to Big Stax with the Bounty.

I've purely been a cash game player with moderate success. Haven't fancied my luck in a tournament setting, outside of local house games.

I agree that JC likely won't win despite the chip lead. Too many crazy, unpredictable things happen at the Final Table. Darvin Moon, for example.

Speaking of having a piece of players. Chino Rheem is in the red beyond belief if you believe the rumors.

The three times I've went have always been on the weekdays, usually in the afternoon. Sometimes 2 pm, sometimes 7. I thought it would be harder when I went at 2 since people haven't gotten off work and stuff, so maybe more regulars, but the players have sucked each time regardless of when I went. 2/5 players are a little better but not by much.

I'm guessing 5/10 players are probably good though... you ever play that high?

been playing 1/2... you want the easy games obviously. Maybe if I build up my roll I can move up.

I've been there late afternoons/evening, and saturdays afternoon. Joint is always packed

I'm going to Nola tomorrow. Plan on hitting the Casinos and playing Black Jack.
What's the most any of you have won?

Not a big money gambler so the most is probably a G

Blackjack with multideck with automatic shufflers and a partially full table goes so fast. I've seen dudes burn through like 10K in 20 minutes

i don't understand how anyone can play anything besides poker...and maybe blackjack (if you can count cards). all that other mess is straight gambling.

I play because I enjoy the experience. I never play trying to win money and most of the time I know when to walk away

Of course but I don't have to win to have a good time. I walk away happy if I'm even or a little bit down

Also not good enough at poker and like the energy of the BJ tables

Patience is a major factor in 1/2 cash games.

I shoved, overcompensated with 9/9 in a cold deck. Played $100 for two hours. Second best hand I saw was 7/7.

I'm itching to get back into poker but never done live before.
first day I played live I lost money just because of the adjustment, fumbling chips..betting wrong. Not knowing whats going on...

it takes some getting used to, I'd say by day two you should be good. And just a lot of patience when you first get started.

you have to mix it up, limp in with some decent connected hands and face cards every once in a while...see a few flops and try to steal a few. I you only play big cards people will know that you're betting big cards...but if you are willing to play with mediocre hands they'll pay you off more on your big hands.

I understand creating an air of unpredictability like Gus Hansen. Sometimes a cold deck is a cold deck no matter how aggressively or unconventionally you play the hands.

no limit texas hold em
sometimes roulette and wheel of fortune (slots) just for the fun of it
three card poker

I haven't really play hold em in a long time. My best run in vegas for that was finishing 1st two times in some tournaments at Paris and winning a tournament at the old Sahara hotel. They don't even have tournaments at these hotels anymore. My friend that lives in vegas and works for the casino's said that the casino's weren't really making any money off the tournaments.

For the poker guys, name the pros you follow or emulate.

Prahlad Friedman, Antonio Esfandiari, Chino Rheem, Joseph Cheong, Joe Hachem.
