**OFFICIAL CROSSFIT THREAD** **NO BULLIES ALLOWED**

It's all about going within your ability. To do that workout rx and also to get into that last round, I'm assuming your one rep max Deadlift has to be in the 350's. There's no shame in scaling the workout.

*edit ^^

I'm just generally cautious doing deadlifts for time.  I find I have to be careful, because it's so easy to go a step too far without realizing it before hand.

I hate doing Deadlifts for time as well. My one rep Deadlift max is 210 but when I do it in a wod I usually do it with 85 pounds or 95 pounds. It's the high hip placement that puts us at back risk. I prefer doing cleans or even snatches for time (with very light weight) instead because the hip is placed a little lower.

Rumor has it Reebok signed a 10 year deal with CrossfitHQ in 2005, and Nike was supposed to get a stab at it after.

I think Crossfit originally approached Nike and was turned down.. sucks.

The current 5.0 or any of the Free's with the split sole and heel are worthless. Load transfer to floor is horrible.

Ive been looking at some indoor soccer shoes, like the lunar gato 2 or even the SB to train in, but I am afraid they may be too narrow.

I hit 14.3 on friday, it wasnt bad. My back was fine. 146 I may have to redo it, since my judge didnt keep track of my tie breaker. :(

146 is nice man! No way i would have got anywhere near that haha.

Deadlifts certainly arent my strong suit so I didnt bother doing it again. Not like im going to be going to regionals!

Did quite a nice 18 min AMRAP earlier, after a set of 3 x 400m sprints.

5 C&J's @ 52.5kg ( 115lb)
10 T2B
15 hand release press ups
200m run.

Got 6 of the press ups done in round 6; wasn't too bad. Took the runs a bit easy though so could have probably got to the 7th. its all good :)

Quite right, no point hurting yourself trying to show off to others. No one is going to care if you scale it. Its the sensible thing to do.

So man people have been complaining about 14.3, what they fail to understand is that its not meant to be a walk in the park! Its the qualifying for the CrossFit Games, its meant to be hard! You wouldn't go around saying qualifying for the Olympics is too difficult. :lol

If I understand right, it's the qualifiers for the regionals, and if you do well at regionals, :lolyou start the crossfit games

Nothing wrong with scaling, this is a beatiful part of crossfit that many people overlook, scalability.
Dont let the ego get in the way.

I ended up redoing on my lunch break. 149 I definitely suffered a little bit on this one. My attempt on friday wasnt anything like it felt today. Maybe because I did death by squats on saturday at 100kg.

its a brutal workout if you have the capacity to make it a brutal workout, or a huge ego and a YOLO attitude, the latter will likely snap your **** up.

I think scalability is the one thing outsiders don't understand until they start at a crossfit box. I think they think we have to do everything as written on the board.

I definitely prefer doing cleans and snatches. Actually I'm much more comfortable with the snatch than deadlift, even though that seems non-intuitive.

Overall, I love cleans and snatches way more than deadlifts. Which is ironic because my deadlift max out classes My cnj and snatch maxes by a lot. Like, it's not even close LOL.

I've only started Olympic weightlifting this yr (since starting crossfit) so I have some catching up to do in those departments.

I wonder what 14.4 has in store for us. I'm hoping burpees and rows are involved. I want something more met/con like rather than heavy weight loading. Not in the mood for something like heavy cleans.

What are your guys thoughts on the new flyknit hyperfeel TR

I'm also interested in any performance review on the hyperfeel trainers had the regular hyperfeels and can't really do much besides walk in a straight line in those.

No info. Damn those are sweet looking. They look like they're going to be better for running than the Nanos.

I got at @nikeprotraining  on twitter they said they come out in Feb. A buddy of mine already got a set via the crew at Invictus who have their own shoe and sponsorship with Nike. They look legit. Ill be wearing them

A homie recommended I check out the CrossFit in my neighborhood.

I've been reading through this topic + Reddit sub and think it looks really interesting. Any further tips/recommendations?

I'm planning to go to the free class my local box offers.

Just got a pair of the Hypercross trainers, Wore my Volts to Crossfit, Back squated 255# (1RM humble brag, up from 185 60 days ago) ... anyway, the heel compressed and caved in DRASTICALLY.. I would not lift in these... They feel good though, you can feel the zoom pods. I am a small guy though, 5'6'' @ 150#, so every ones experience may differ depending on body type.

You guys are talking about the Metcon, I am an assoc footwear buyer at the FINL.... we will have these online like towards the end of Feb. I gave a couple pairs to people i work with (we have a crossfit box at our corporate office) and they love them. One guy is pretty well known around these parts, he also goes to Three Kings Crossfit (indianapolis) and everyone there is asking him about his shoes... I gave him a "sprite" colorway that is a sample and wont release to the public. You guys will eventually see the red colorway you have been asking for, i think it hits stores in like july, its Red/Grey/white/black... they are smooth.

The Metcon feels REALLY good on foot, everyone who i have talked to are ready to grab a Nike shoe as they are tired of their Reeboks. When the Grey/Red pair of metcon hits, we will have a takedown crossfit shoe thats all black with a CAMO gloss finish at $95, this is clean as hell too.

I really need to grab a pair of weight lifting shoes after seeing how my heel caved in on my trainers, i am thinking about the nike romaleos, but that price point is scaring me... Might reach out to my Reebok rep and try to get a pair of lifters for the low.

Lifters are great. I can do every lift, box jumps, double unders, all that quite comfortably - except for running - which I will probably use the metcons for.

It's a lot of fun.  Just go and see if you like it.

Make sure the coaches there know what they are doing re: lift training.
