I suggest using an optimizer of some sorts for mlb. Obviously use your discretion and use the human input as well but it helps you narrow things down tremendously and use your salary. Been messing with one the last 2 days and seeing significant improvement

A lot of sites have their own, fwiw I've heard from a lot of people that fantasy insiders and their content is the best. I believe everything is $125 for the season. Anyways.
Rotogrinders for example has a lineup optimizer. What it does is provides projections for every player in whichever slate you choose. It's best to plug in a couple of guys you really like and then run it. It'll provide you with the highest projection players at the positions with the guys you've chosen. It fits your remaining salary as well.
What I've done recently is use one and look at all projections for every player and that helps me narrow it to about 3-4 per position and I just use other research or my own opinion and select guys from there. That's how I would suggest to use it. Obviously the pay content is better and has more analytical stuff in it but for now I've just been using free ones and it's helped me.
For example it had a high projection on Donaldson and Villar tonight and I rolled with them in tournaments and they had low teen ownership in the contests I played.
