Sterling's getting 325K a week, a contract that was handed out during the old regime. When he's dialed in you have a good player but he has shown moments of selfish play (he's not the only one but it stands out more as a veteran).

They don't want to continue paying him. Understandable. Could it have been handled better? Sure, but wanting him to leave isn't completely unreasonable. Sterling is our best LW but we got young guys who need reps at that spot making much less. They won't get the minutes they need with him there and benching him with such wages would just be dumb.

i don’t understand what the chelsea manager is supposed to do

he has 50 guys and needs to pick 23 of them
if you aren’t good enough, you get cut just like every other job. its not like sterling isn’t still getting paid a ton of money. he’s still access to all the facilities he’s just not in the #1 team. sterling had plenty of opportunities to not suck and missed them.
Have you seen Chelsea's roster? Sterling probably one of the better players.
Sterling is good but just not on the level of the wages the club is paying him. City let him go for a reason. And Marecsa is a Pep pupil. They likely saw the same thing in Sterling

Sterling was Tuchel's guy while owners wanted CR7. Both were wrong tho

Let's not forget Southgate hasn't called Sterling up since Qatar World Cup
City let him go because they were banking on Grealish being good. Guess what? They messed up and chose wrong. Its classless how they've handled the situation.

Nah. Pass. Not running a charity
Since when? You signed Anthony for all that money and what has he done? Sounds like a soup kitchen to me.

We're being told this is just standard operating procedure though like this is a thing clubs do regularly

is this guy getting the sterling treatment? yall feel bad for him?

Man to think he was rated pretty high at Monaco. I’m sure hasn’t helped having a new manager every 6 months

Ngl that jacket going platinum
