Most likely because its such a small stadium. I'd love it if Lumen Field could host something tho. **** I'd even make the drive to Vancouver if they could get a team into whatever the official name of the Portland Timbers' Home Away From Home Stadium is.

Yes. Like right over 25. Unless the south end is rebuilt and an actual stand built, we won't get much bigger. The North End can't be built higher and the west side would cost too much. Problem with the south end is that there probably isn't room for a concourse behind/under a potential stand, and anything that could be built now wouldn't add enough people to justify the cost.


All that is to say - Portland will never get these highlight games. The best we can hope for is a mid-level Gold Cup game :smh:
