Precedent has been set now, it wasn’t set in 2010, 2014 or 2018 when those World Cups triumphs didn’t affect the award winner.

Im honestly not trippin about Haaland not winning the Balon Dor there will be other opportunities for him he’s young as hell. Messi getting one more won’t change his legacy that’s cemented he’s the goat no sane person gonna go “he only got 7 not 8” it’s just another layer of icing. He got his ultimate prize in the World Cup and he balled out to get it. That was the only legacy defining thing left for him and he did it in spectacular fashion.
