Technically the show is caught up, but they ignored a few character's/story-lines and for some they gave one characters story-line in the books to a different character in the show.

I got a 1 hour commute each way going to/from work. Thinking about doing audio books of GoT. When do the books and the show start going in different routes? Or should I just start from the top?

Ive listened to the audio books twice over now.
1 chapter can be about 40 mins. I would say just start from book 1 because there are still minor details that are important. But u can start at book 2
