I don't know why people take their kids to Vegas. I see families walking around with kids in strollers and such, and they just wander aimlessly. Like, have no purpose. It doesn't look like fun.

I also found that very strange, but I guess there's things like cirque de solei, resort pools & whatever other events that work for families. If I had kids I wouldn't, not with the smokey casinos, rampant public drinking/intoxication, provocatively dressed ladies....hardly a city, the strip is an adult theme park

Took my tribe of 5 to the vdara for 2 nights. 50 sand-which trick got me a penthouse suite. Stuffed our face at the rio buffet every day, took em to NY NY, circus circus and stratosphere. They saw the drunks in the daytime but it was all chill and lulz..
My eldest 2 (13&11) had a ball.

I think one reason families go is because there is a generation today that remembers growing up when Vegas was more family oriented.. Resorts built in the last 15 years (and really going back to the Bellagio) do not cater to a younger crowd, while the older ones that did are becoming run down.

Yeah, early reports claim some idiot tossed a cigarette butt into a bush. Those palm trees and cabanas are fake and apparently flammable as hell.
