Push in the East? Nah....I think they'll make the playoffs, but there are going to be some MAJOR changes in both the FO and on the roster. George McPhee has a lot riding on the next couple of weeks. Mainly, his job.
IMO, the organization...yes, the ORGANIZATION panicked after the Montreal series a few years back. They went from a run & gun system to a defensive 1st philosophy. I honestly believe that they tinkered with the system so much that there is wide-spread confusion as to what they need to be doing on the ice. It's like trying to get a ferrari to perform in a monster truck rally.
All I know is this...Ovechkin better figure out how to play and re-discover his passion for the game. His contract is now looking worse and worse by the day. He was called out yesterday for embracing the rock star lifestyle instead of properly preparing for games.
THIS is the time when he needs to put the team on his back. Look no further than Malkin. Too much talent on this team to be mediocre.

Why not? Sure, he's an extremely valuable piece and if he could bring you a young goalie they'd have to at least consider it. They're not going far with Emery/Crawford, they don't have a kid in the minors and there's nothing but backups/aged vets on this years market. They would have to consider it, they are that deep up front.

But Kaner though? Man... Dude is 23. Thatd be tough for me to do if i was a GM. Then again im bias cause Kaner is my guy and so is Toews and not seeing them on the same/same line anymore would be crazy weird.
I will say this, if they want a Backstrom or Harding for him.. by all means bring homie to Minnesota

I did just read a blog though that rumors that Buffalo would offer Miller for Kane... Kane back in his hometown and wearing a sabres jersey would be pretty dope.
But again, idk, i just cant see them pulling the trigger to let Kane go..

Great win by the Jets in Minnesota tonight, just 4 points out of a playoff spot
Once realignment happens this is going to be a great rivalry, the 2 games this year have been really intense. Plus there was probably a couple thousand Jets fans at the game tonight as well which was awesome

Word. Mos def. plus its only a 9hr drive from St Paul to Winnipeg.
There were SO MANY Jets fans in the stands tonight. Watching the postgame show and dudes are chanting "Go Jets Go!"
But as a Wild fan, there is not much to cheer about ...
Dudes just cant find a way to win a game. Not even with puttin up 3 goals after avg 1 goal the past like 5 games
I think they 5-16-6 since Mid December
At least there is the Rangers.

TSN did a feature on Shawn Thornton before the Bruins-Jets game so they had him mic'd up during a practice. Tuuka Rask asks him "why are you mic'd up?" Thornton responds "because I'm pretty much the best player in the world"
