I guess I have to check out 24 since you guys keep referencing it.

24 was a game-changer back then... the realtime element, the cliffhangers, the suspense, the twists.  The first English TV show I really binged!

You know when somebody makes that annoying corny obnoxious fart sound with their mouth? That's how I felt about this finale.

They tried to dress it up to be pretty and have some thematic conclusions but it all ended with a whimper for me except one scene which almost seems out of place with the rest of the subplots that wrapped up.

Reporter chick got only half of what she deserved. Lying on tv and hurting her rep was only a start. Right after she did that I would've had dude deported to Turkey and her sent back to America to end up in prison. Ah well, guess it's nice to see Germans be lenient.

@ During basically proposing to Carrie. So out of the ******* blue when he told her bf she was basically getting fired. I did like his very direct approach though. Didn't do nothing wild or say anything flagrant but made his intentions clear.

Saul wasting Allison like that was hilarious. Such an over the top decisive action. Felt like I was watching the finale of Breaking Bad.

So they finally bring some real consequences to the wild predicament they put Quinn with brain hemorrhages and most likely never waking up or being a vegetable if he does. I feel only thing more out of place is if they did show Carrie snuffing out his life The sun shining in would've been a nice touch if things were hopeful in any way but I see they're trying to frame it like the lawyer just dumped Carrie, she got the weird proposition she'll probably say no to, so why not have this weird optimistic hope for Quinn.

Anyway with the way things ended looks like if there's a 6th season it'll be the last one. If they do another huge time skip in between seasons where somehow Carrie gets dragged back in to another terrorist plot it's going to feel way too much like the final seasons of 24.

Over the top? Hardly, keep in mind she was practically a terrorist/committed treason at that point. Couldve droned that car and would be justified.

Still, you know Saul was butt hurt he got played. Remember when we all were made to think he was the mole in S1. My how times changed.

Hate to see Quinn go out like that. Hope he's in heaven with 40 fat chicks with Carries face.

I stopped watching this season like 4 episodes ago, worth to catch up? I still enjoyed it for what it was when I left off but it was definitely starting to get redundant.

No. That was over the top. It's one thing for the Russian dude to tell Saul how they'd leave the country but you meant to tell me he told him the time too? Saul could've easily wasted some German civilians

Technically Saul should've just brought her in. I get why he had her killed but just shooting up a car you made take a side road?

What was done was akin to his nobody knows kill list he had Quinn doing.

Only argument for killing her is that the CIA did not want to suffer the public backlash of having a double agent in their service for over a decade and that they probably wouldn't have made it back from that. That's another real life Robert Hanssen situation on your hands.

I thought at first but with everything he said altogether he was coming on to her. He started off with new position like he was talking about work but he finessed it nicely to make it about smashing. I almost thought he was gonna take it too far and just straight up propose.

It was a very proper and straightforward gentleman's way of propositioning her.

Meh, it says something when they showed the terrorist plot being toppled within the first 5 minutes. Even the writers knew nobody cared about that story line.

Feels like a wasted season with really nothing they can push forward for next season, all this not including the fact that Quinn is probably the only reason I watch this show anymore. 

It's going to take a lot to bring me back in for this show.

I was fine with Saul doing what he did. They pretty much built up to that point with Saul's earlier aggression against her. The only thing keeping Saul in line was cameras and being in official CIA buildings. He went rogue on that one. Basically, don't mess with Saul.

The rest of the episode was meh. They just had to toss in 30 minutes of Carrie's personal life. We all decided a long time ago that we don't care about her other than her professional life.

Yeah I dont think there is a way they are going to come with another season. This is finished and I am glad.

Quinn came through with the subtle Broday jab: "don't make me a star on a wall"

This show needs to be wrapped up next season.

The finale wasn't as good as it should have been IMO, like the way the plot was built up yet diffuse was anti climatic. The Allison ending also. I wouldn't be mad if it ended next season myself, unless they can develop a real good antagonist. The whole romantic offer she receive caught me off guard.

Writing was sub par all season. 

Probably like most of you guys are saying, they might scale to one of those run of the mill 24 esqe shows.

This show fell off real hard. It's such a drastic difference from the 1st season to present day

That scene when Dar Adal was sleeping they pan away from him to Claire Danes.
Then when they pan back to him for his line, it was like he was never asleep, sitting straight in his chair.

But overall, that proposal, offer, whatever you call it seemed out of the blue... which made me wonder if he had other motives... Hmmmmmmmm.

As for the finale... man, they tied up that gas threat with some quickness!  The whole "cliffhanger" from last week was for this?! 

Was kinda surprised Saul took that route on Allison... throw her in the slammer for the rest of her life!  But them not wanting the embarrassment of having a mole for so many years also made sense... if indeed that was part of the rationale.

2 weak finales in a row. but at least last season was actually good tho. I thought this season was pretty boring. things started picking up in the last few episodes, so I was anticipating an exciting finale, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. this was EASILY Homeland's worst season IMO. hopefully they get it right next year.

Well he did tell the German Brody that he was going to fired Carrie for being so bad at her job. Trying to break them apart so he can slide in them DMs.  So it wasn't COMPLETELY out of nowhere. Please he basically let her hide out in his house knowing it would be a risk. He obviously had some feelings for her.

Yeah, well at the time I didn't know that was his motive... now it makes more sense! 

Of course, in traditional Homeland style, I'm skeptical all the time... I think that guy's up to no good... backing terrorists or something!

Finally saw the season 4 finale. The **** was that? Build up one tone the entire season, then switch up at the last minute.

The finale was anticlimatic to say the least.

They wrapped up that terrorist attack in the first 10 minutes of the episode.

Saul went ham on Allison, Good Lord.

Don't know what they're gonna do with Quinn. Hoping he doesn't make a dramatic recovery and back to normal. His prognosis was so bad I don't even a senzu bean would've saved him. The sun shining in as Carrie seemed ready to put him out of his misery making her pause makes it seem like they might go that route.

Carrie must have the Shangri-La of yambs. All these dudes simping over her.

Her boss approaching her like that was outta left field, especially how he seemed to be tired off all the drama and baggage she comes with a few episodes ago.

Wouldn't mind if next season was the last. The show seems to be on the verge of being Dexter'd
