I just saw she passed. I used to listen to nothing but NPR when I had the radio on. Don't listen to the station as much as I used to.
RIP. She lived a long fruitful life & I will miss listening to her. There was a good doc I saw on NPR on her earlier this year. Not sure where you can see it now.

If anyone has HBO, Wynton Marsalis has a docu-show about him mentoring some young cats called A Youngarts Masterclass kicking off it's third season. Trailer below. I've seen him lecture a number of times as well as seen him play both jazz & classical several times over the years.
I always thought he came off as arrogant & bougie, but he's seemed to mellow over the years. He's always been impeccably dressed though, which I've always appreciated. This season looks pretty good as he mentors kids from National YoungArts Foundation in preparation of their performance at the Lincoln Center.

Just a heads up, there's a great documentary series on Netflix right now called Ken Burns: Jazz.
Spans jazz from its inception to its current incarnation. Really, really well done, highly recommended for anyone who knows about, or wants to learn about, jazz.
