Official Jazz thread

^Thinking about doing the $50 donation when I get a chance so I can get the film download.. any material from Glasper is a must have for me

Heard this today on satellite radio.. posting it here so I remember to get the album:

Marcus Miller is too funky

Esperanza Spalding - Inutil Paisagem (ft. Gretchen Parlato)

Some stuff I've posted before. These ladies beautifully covering the Antonio Jobim classic.

Lionel Loueke - Nonvignon (ft. Gretchen Parlato)

Herbie Hancock & Sting - Sister Moon

I love seeing behind the scenes stuff whether it's sports or music. I loved the Herbie Hancock doc that accompanied the release of this album. Loved this version of the Sting classic.

Sting - Moon Over Bourbon St (2001 Live Toscana)

This song was originally on Sting's first solo album the Dream of Blue Turtles back in back in '85. The song was inspired by Anne Rice's Interview With A Vampire. This performance has Christian McBride on bass & Chris Botti on the horn...

Robert Glasper Trio - Joga (Bjork Cover)

Great cover... This dude never ceases to amaze me. So lyrical & emotive in his playing. He has the knack of just capturing you with his sound/tone. Wrapping you like a warm blanket....

Bjork's....

Soil & Pimp Sessions - Summer Godess & Funky Goldman

Summer Goddess has become my summer time jawn. I went to a Memorial Day cookout & was asked to bring some playlists. Added SG Funky Goldman. Dude on the bass has the rhythm on lock down... I included this one & a lot of people loved it... Just added to the ambience of having a good time... Love it... :D :smokin

Le Boeuf Brothers - Morning Song

Picked up Pascal Le Boeuf's new disc with his trio called Pascal's Triangle. YouTube didn't have any of the studio versions of the song so I posted a live version of a track from the album below & Morning Song from the disc he released with his brother Remy on Sax a while ago.

Pascal's Triangle - What Your Teacher Will Never Know

The RH Factor - Juicy

Roy Hargrove's side project.

Christian Scott - Isadora

I love this song...

Ambrose Akinmusire - With Love

John Coltrane - Blues To Elvin & Mr. Syms

Coltrane Plays The Blues is an under appreciated album. Rediscovered it this past weekend.

Branford Marsalis - In the Crease

One bad MFer that also picks the best musicians to play with him... Look up past members of the various incarnations of his bands over the years...

This performance is from the International Jazz Day Global Concert back on April 30th... I posted the full concert a few pages back...

Antonio Carlos Jobim & Elis Regina - Triste
