None of Phil Jackson's 11 championship teams ever lost four straight games, so at this point, the Lakers might as well tank the season. Saturday's win over the Kings may have been fun to play, but it only hurts their chances at getting the No. 1 pick in the Draft. Time to think about the future, L.A.

you guys are funny. chill out!

LA comes on the most so I watch them the most and I give constructive criticism that's all. I am not impressed with dude as much as you all are n it pains you when folks reveal parts of his game that are questionable

Nobody stoned you, stop exaggerating

.

People just notice how much you poke your head in this thread, and its obvious youre not a laker fan.
And its usually the same '' type '' of post about a certain shooting guard.
grin.gif

It just seems that people are quick to point out the negative before the positive, people have been pointing out his low fg %  lately.
Thats fine , but then when he shoots it at a high % , '' oh he still broke the triangle too much ''.......He cant win either way.

Good to hear about Drew.  Now Pau can start to ease off the throttle, as well as Lamar.

Ska, you sir are plenty well spokin on here, you have no need to hold back anything, most of my *****ing is directed at kids that run rampant in here after every bad quarter.  I know you speak with a Laker heart on what you yourself witness, so please, if you would, what is it that concerns you with our current roster for the playoffs in 2011?

French, KB8, Tupac, do you have any of the same fears that he does?

I'll take a shot at that.

The Lakers don't seem to be as big as they were last year (I know this is not true). Drew, Pau, LO and Theo is all we have and if we run into anymore injuries, this could be a problem (Caracter can't be counted on at this point).  Other teams, mainly the Celtics, have taken steps to address the size issue.  Pau looked depleated in the Boston series and Bynum was crippled.  Will LO continue to look this good late next year? Hope so.  It would be beneficial for LA to get one more big just to put us over the top.  What's DJ up to this year?  Maybe a swing that could play both PF and C.  Mainly someone to absorb the fouls when needed.  Hopefully Caracter will excel faster and fill that void, it would be great to see the rookie succeed.

Our perimeter play has definitely been upgraded this year.  Slumps like we saw on that four game skid could hurt in the POs, but I don't see that happening.  We are loaded at the G and SF positions.

The bench... what can you say, it is 100% better than last year.

Lastly... Ron Ron.  He doesn't look bad, so to say.  But he doesn't seem like Ron.  His shooting from downtown has definitely been a plus, hopefully it continues all year.  And he just seems to disappear into the game at times.  I look for him to come out as a defensive specialist in the POs.

Side note: Defense.  Lakers are horrible at it this year.  LA needs to tighten the screws and get some  intensity going.

LA Lakers: 2010-2011 NBA Champions.

Ehhhh rampant? It's usually just a few of the same people analyzing the game and sharing their displeasures, just like every season. With the additions of the trolls crober and abovelegit.

I still remember back in the losing days when Ska used to always hate on Kobe, I used to argue with him alot...Not sure if he remembers though, it was a few years ago.

I only remember because of your long username.

I'm usually on the UTA Forums, but I been around here since 04...Just don't post that much as you can see in my post count.

We better win tonight, yall remember the trash the Clipper nation (all 3 of them) were trashing last year because they won that 1 game till we put them back in their hole

anyways to be completely honest with you, CP. this year there is no concern. we lost 4 in a row the first time since acquiring pau but we know this has been our deepest team in a long, long time. guys like barnes, blake and odom(when drew comes back) who are clearly capable starters for other teams coming off our bench? that is ridiculous. theyre veterans who are still in their primes and know the game well. you include that with an improving shannon brown, im well confident phil will have them gelling in the right time. as for our starting 5, we already know what they can do. the only real concern is having drew healthy enough to contend with big teams like a boston, san antonio and orlando. but isnt that what we always worry about every year? bynums health? the reason why we had a good start was because guys like pau, kobe and fish were well rested from the off-season but with pau playing a lot of drews minutes its taken a toll on him thus our recent slump. but once we are healthy we will be fine. look at boston last year, they had their struggles in the season but once they got healthy they went on the finals. let's put it this way i'll worry when we are down 3-2 or 3-1 or 3-0 in a playoff series but till then im not gonna stress over this team
Artest May Donate 2010-11 Salary To Charity
Dec 08, 2010 4:40 PM EST

Artest_Ron_lal.jpg
Lakers forward Ron Artest is thinking about donating at least half of his 2010-11 salary to benefit mental health awareness.

Artest will make $6.79 million next season.

"I'm definitely considering the whole thing," Artest said. "Or maybe 60 percent."

Artest has already decided to give away his 2010 championship ring in an online raffle to raise funds and increase awareness of mental-health issues in schools.

Artest called the salary plan "very serious. I've talked to my wife about it already. It's a powerful message. The message is about the inspiration. That's what I want, to inspire people. People will be like, 'Wow. Why is he doing this? Oh, that's why. Wow. We need to help educate.' I didn't come [to the Lakers] for the money. Obviously I could have gone somewhere else, even a lesser market. Pay less taxes. The taxes here are freaking killing me, you know what I'm saying?"

Thought this was a pretty cool story.
