OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

So, yeah, Happy New Year y'all.

Haven't even checked the score. Not planning to. Gonna head out soon and enjoy the night. This team has ****** me over way too much this month. Not tonight!

Happy New Years Clipper fam! Stay safe, cuhs.

Wow, after last night we're down to the 7th spot. Life really does come at you fast.

Happy New Years fambs

And I would rather be in 3rd, 6th, or 7th instead of 4th tbh

The path to a wcf is not at the 4th or 5th seed

I hate to sound like "that" guy :lol but I still think we're good man

We're 36 games into this. We have over 1/2 the season left.

Rough stretch here, but as long as we get healthy we'll be good. Houston can't stay this hot I don't think, and they'll lose games. We've notoriously had better 2nd halfs than first halfs under Doc, and looking at the schedule I'm betting that trend will continue.

Just gotta get healthy. I think we all know this team isn't the team we're seeing on this six game slide. Easy to forget that we had won like 7 of 10 or 8 of 11 after that Spurs win when CP went out. We were treading in the right direction.

We good...for a 7th seed lmao :lol

My only thing is the early start had me thinking we were better than last year. Even before the i juries we had reverted to the same type of team we had been the last few years. I never really thought we could beat GSW but now there isn't a team i think we can easily beat besides the 8th seed. Unless we purposely lose, weMre gonna end up 4th or 5th imo :lol

This is where I'm at. I know we're still a "good" team, but at the same level of good we have been for the last few years. Yeah, if we get healthy and things break right, the WCF is still a possibility. But it's equally possible and probably more likely that we lose in the 2nd or even 1st round.

The fact that the only guy we have who can be a capable "closer" is six feet tall without elite athleticism remains a big problem.

Right agree, we probably aren't better than we were say last year or the year before

But a huge caveat is that the west isn't as good as last year up top, and we may be good enough to break into the wcf if we stay out of 4th/5th which is now gonna be tough as hell smh

But we're in a 4 way tie for 4th and the rockets are a bad week and a half or two from being in 4th. There's still so much in the air from a seeding perspective. I don't think third is out of reach actually yet and still.

^^^ Yeah, I don't really see the West being worse than it was last year. Or if it is, it's not by much. GSW and SAS are about the same. And I think the Rockets are for real. The personnel they have really mesh with D'Antonio's system. I don't see them dropping off much unless Harden misses time due to injury. Portland and Dallas are worse, but teams like Utah and Memphis are taking their place and are about the same as they were last year. And I think, when it's all said and done, the team in the 8th spot will be right around a .500 team. The conference is still tough. I think us getting back up to 3 is a real long shot, especially because we really have no idea when we'll have everyone back and healthy.

CP is doubtful for tonight. Having already recently lost to the Mavs, Lakers and Pelicans, an L tonight to the Suns will pretty much prove that, without Blake and Chris, we're the worst team in the West.

Every damn year, man. How do other teams never have so many injuries? It's always us and Memphis.

^^^ OKC had some bad luck too. They lost KD for most of one year and Russ in the playoffs another year. GSW and SAS have been pretty fortunate in that department though. The most ironic thing though is that Doc was really thinking about health in trying to bolster the bench and giving guys nights off just to rest. None of it helped. LOL.

Missed the game but happy to see the final score. We byke!!! #2 seed here we come

Hope you're watching P C H P C H - Austin is the reason we're in this game.

Yeah I was watching. The growth he's shown as a player this season has been awesome. From his shooting, to his finishing at the rim, he's just grown so much. Coming into this season he was someone that we were going to depend on, and thankfully he's coming into his own. His combination of size for position, shooting and ability to play downhill and finish at the rim is not found anywhere else on this team. In the playoffs, we're going to NEED that badly.

We lost the six straight which sucks, but in that we got very good reps for Austin. I think this stretch has been a huge confidence builder. Playing big minutes, succeeding in those minutes, can only help us in the postseason.

Chris Paul should be byke tonight.
Brice Johnson not may finally make his debut this month.
Blake should return this month.

Please don't get hurt again.

I don't think CP plays tonight. Still listed as doubtful, I believe. Think he'll come back Sunday for the Heat.

I'd take my chances without him tonight. The Kangz just lost at home to a Heat squad that's even more depleted than we are. If we play tonight like we did in the last two games, we have a good chance at a W even without CP.

-edit- He's been updated to probable for tonight.
