OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

A win is a win, especially against a team we haven't beat on the road in 8 years, but damn. How the **** did we give up damn near 40 points to the Nets in the 4th quarter? SMDH. Bright spot is that Blake hit some clutch buckets to seal the victory. The more he does that, the better.

Gut is telling me drop this game tonight, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we pulled out the W.
I honestly think we pull this one out. We're playing one of the few teams in the league who's second unit is worse than ours. But this isn't an easy matchup by any means.

Hopefully we continue to see that the Clippers have made over the last ten games, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Since starting out horribly, the Clippers have been a top 10 defensive team over the last ten, and have been better than everyone not named the Spurs at defending the three. The bad news is that there has been a bit of regression in that span offensively, but I think that's due to CP and Blake flat out not making shots at the Clip we expect them to. I feel that that'll come around, so it's encouraging to see the clippers on the defensive side of the ball be better.

Also, I know in this NBA climate the talk when it comes to 3's centers on Steph and the warriors and what not.

But JJ Redick is shooting 46% from 3 on 5 attempts per game. That's crazy good man.

Yea it was kind of apparent that our 3 point defense wasn't as bad as the stats showed. Teams were just hitting every single 3 they took :lol

Also agree that the offense isn't as bad as it's been looking. CP3 has been missing his signatur pull up 10-15 footers all season and Blake has been missing a lot of open jumpers.

I say we take this one 102-94

Reggie Bullock is just 2-of-34 from the field since the Clippers Traded him for Austin Rivers. He's 1-of-17 inside the Arc.
Ouch.

We actually won a trade in which we received Austin Rivers. Crazy times.

And now for your Wesley Johnson update
Wesley Johnson is now at 40% from the three point line, making him the third clipper on the team currently who's at 40% or higher from the three point line. (Lance Stephen is at 41%, and Redick is at 46%.)
Once more, Wesley Johnson is shooting over 58% from the corner three

From the opening tip CP couldn't handle Reggie but down the stretch it's was even more apparent.

Amazing how we lost this game.

But then again we are who we are so this isn't a surprise.

Man I was ready to come in here and say Doc coached his *** off and then this dude fouls again smfh

Also nice to see he gave Lance another DNP smfh

But I will give him credit for that loose bal foul on drummond and the plays he drew up at the end of regulation. Also his substitutions he made near the end were great. Jamal only took one stupid shot today so he deserves some love too.

Game should have never been this clsoe but **** it I'll take any W these days

Yeah, all of this. And like shoeking, I was about to come in here 2 or 3 times and talk about how we choked the game away. Still not even sure how we pulled this one off. That 3 JJ hit was extra clutch. Wow.

We stole this one. Completely. No way to say otherwise.

- Doc's X's and O's have always been stellar man. Lowkey no one is better than Doc with that. It's his rotations, and infatuation with old retreads that get him in trouble.

- Lance would help the 2nd unit so much. He needs to play man

- Up 3, there is no need to foul. Just play D for like 9 seconds

If he makes it he makes it, but too much can go wrong when up 3 and fouling. You can't be that insecure with your D that you foul when Up 3.

Today his offense / defense subs down the stretch saved us. CP was getting abused by Reggie, and Austin played some really good defense on him down the stretch. Also, I think the loose ball foul on drummond was straight redick on that. Like Doc had a confused look on his face when it happened

either way that was brilliant stuff.

Yea I remember seeing that bbal breakdown vid showing how Doc is one of the best drawing up plays out of timeouts. I just wanted to point it out since I'm always so quick to call him out on his other stupid *** decisions :lol

CP3 been missing way too many wide open shots. Im starting to get concerned.

Likewise. Kept saying to myself during this game, "time for CP to hit a big shot." Never happened.
Well he did hit a big one against tolliver down the stretch in the 4th quarter.

But other than that, yeah his shot has completely abandoned him. He was so good at the 13 - 17 foot jumper and this year he's barely average. It's going to be tough going forward if he can't regain that efficiency from that area.

Y'all see Doc's press conference?

He admitted that the players scratched all his plays and ideas and came up with their own. Even they know that Doc is losing his sht :lol

He also admitted he has a tendency to over coach a lil but.

So, I work 8:30-5:30 M-F and when Im not listening to music I really only have 2 podcasts to listen to.

Jim Rome
Deadcast (which is only like twice a month)

I'm all caught up on both so I've been looking for a Clipper podcast to listen to but the only one I've found is the ClipCast with that annoying dbag Chris Wylde. Anybody know of a good NBA or Clipper podcast to listen to?

-I hate Bill Simmons
-I don't like the NBA Starters or that Jalen joint

I know I'm picky :lol

Orrrr, who would be down to start our own Clipper podcast 8o. I have the recording equipment. We would just need a 2nd mic 8o

as bad as we have been as a team so far this year, we are currently 4th in the west behind the 3 teams that everyone predicted us to be behind. and we have zero team chemistry, zero idea of what the rotation is and zero ideas of what we want to do on offense, especially in crunch time.

i still think we can be the second best team in the west and can beat GSW in a west final if we get it together.

Would love OJ in a clipper uni this summer.

Why? Sorry, bro. I'm not a fan of his. JJ >>> OJ. But if you mean as a replacement for Jamal, I guess that would be ok, as long as we don't have to pay him too much.

It's crazy, we're 9-2 in our last 11 and I still think we suck :lol Hope they keep it up and change my mind.

Sucks is a bit of strong word, but I'm basically with you. We've been beating mostly not-very-good teams and never do so easily. So, I think we're just OK right now, which is good enough since there seems to be only two, maybe 3, elite teams in the league. The Spurs game should be a good barometer of who we actually are. I'm not hoping for a win, but if we keep it close, I'll be satisfied.
