OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

Doc must have showed the guys my post midway through the first. I'm taking all the credit for this comeback so far :lol

Jamal leaving Ariza open for 3's :rollin

And another tech on us because we never know when to shut up :lol :{

-edit-

ANOTHER OPEN 3 FOR ARIZA :rollin

Got it down to six, and crawford inexplicably leaves trevor wide open for two straight back breaking 3's

Really, why was Jamal in? Can't score lately and damn sure can't defend. Those Ariza 3s are why we're going to lose.

So, why doesn't Cole ever play? He has like 5 boards in 2 minutes.
If nothing else, he needs to get some bump just to see what he can do from a boarding perspective.

We're the worst rebounding team in the league, he can't hurt us.

And i've been waining on Austin to begin with. Tough to see him injure himself like that, but it'll be nice to see someone else (Lance? Pablo?) get a chance to be a backup pg.

Agreed on Austin. Don't like that he got injured at all, but I am ok with that fact it's going to cause changes with the 2nd unit.

Apologies to the thread, but it's time for another CJ Wilcox rant:

Bring CJ Wilcox up and play him man.

This was CJ in the D League a few days ago after we sent him back down.

Not even trying to be a homer here, but he's our player. We drafted him. He clearly has the capacity to be a lights out shooter with size at the next level. He's been a shooter is whole life. There's no way, with a straight face that you can continue to trout out the worst bench in basketball, full of players who can't shoot, and then say there's no room for a 6'6 shooter on very low usage. I won't even talk about his defense, because it's irrelevant. We throw Crawford and pierce out there and do horribly so why not?

Our 2nd unit can't shoot, but we've played CJ Wilcox 4 seconds this season

We can't rebound at all, but Coach Doc refuses to even give a look to Cole Aldrich.

Our 2nd unit can't rebound or defend, but we continue to play Pierce, then play him extensively with Crawford.

Our 2nd unit can't rebound, but we refuse to at least give Branden a chance to see if he can help. To draft players and LITERALLY not play them at all is moronic.

#CoachDoc.

All of this. Doc's loyalty to Jamal and PP is mind numbing.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Doc chose to play a one-legged Austin over Lance.

I was kind of drunk last night but did I see at some point we were being outrebounded 45-25?? :rollin

As a Starter, Matt Barnes is averaging 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2 assist on 47/39/82 shooting splits. Meanwhile the current starting 3 for the Clippers, Luc Richard Mbah amoute is shooting shots that hit the top of the corner of the backboard and is offensively inept. What's worse, the Clippers don't even play the 3 that they traded him for (Stephenson), and refuse to give a significant look to the player that appears to be able to replicate what Barnes was able to do. (Wesley Johnson)
Welp

Yeah, Thunder getting all calls when there's contact and we're getting none.

Just join the train. Once ya'll embrace the suck, it's all good.

Not saying it would have made a difference but why didn't Josh play tonight?

The crowd was lit tonight. Thought CP3 was fould on that last layup but I had a bad angle so I could be wrong. Great game :hat

Yeah, Thunder getting all calls when there's contact and we're getting none.

There was one play where I SWEAR Singler went over to intentionally foul Cole to send him to the line instead of getting the easy layup. Think it was in the 3rd or 4th quarter. Dude literally just slapped his arms and hugged him like players do on all open layups. Refs don't call it and OKC scores the other way :lol

Maybe I was tripping and the tv showed a better angle but it looked like an obvious foul.

As far as the game tonight, I think we should have seen more of Blake on Durant down the stretch. Also, the Clippers best lineup this year, (Core 4 + Stephenson) played 4 seconds together. That has got to change. CP has got to play with this kind of aggression every night. Moving forward though, the minute allocation issue is real for Doc.

- Lance / Rivers / Crawford - Crawford needs to go. By no means am I saying that the loss tonight was on Crawford, but there's a big cluster**** of minute allocation that Doc Rivers is suffering through.

- Josh Smith has been our best rim protector this year, believe it or not. No reason he shouldn't play a second. Moving forward, a second unit of Stephenson / Rivers (We need defenders and he's been **** on offense, but he can still defend)/ Johnson / Smith / Aldridge would be ideal.

- Aldridge's presence tonight was felt and I think because we are so bad boarding, that Cole almost has to play now. To me, Crawford and Pierce are the odd men out. (Or at least they should be)

- Also, the Luc experiment should just stop. I really think wes or lance need to start and come off the bench. Luc is starting and probably should be an end of the bench player.

-All of this points to the fact that there's a gross misuse of our resources on this team right now. We've got some pieces that can help, but when we're playing Pierce small ball four when Cole is just sitting there, or when we play Crawford out there when Lance is just sitting there, I mean it's tough. At some point though, hopefully doc figures this out and if he does this team still can be very good in the postseason.

I think there's some addition by subtraction that needs to be made in order for us to thrive. Luc shouldn't play, Pierce shoudln't play, I really hope we move Jamal since we can't not play him, and I think these are moves that have to be made to free up some minutes and provide us, (especially the second unit) with a more defensive and competent disposition.

We quite frankly have too much "talent."

I put talent in parenthesis because we have too many players that aren't overwhelmingly good, but more importantly when put together, they become a cluster**** that don't move the needle with wins and losses. Gotta move some parts and not play some parts here so you can start building an actual team with players that can fulfill specific roles.

Went to the game last night at staples.

Westbrook is absurdly fast... :eek

Ref's missed like 6-8 calls... :{ :x

Too much ball watching by everyone not named CP3...doc needs to remind them to move more consistently in the half court, another instance of CP3 playing his *** off :{

Doc needs to adjust the offense, especially after the first half with blake shooting missing a lot of mid range jumpers, it just wasn't there, gotta instead go low post and get him better looks or at least to the foul line.
