Here’s what I rock now:

super breathable and super light, but durable and long lasting.

Best features over the pocket compression shorts are:

1.) lighter
2.) breathable
3.) fits like normal boxer briefs
4.) pockets are like at the waist
5.) pockets are deep
6.) pockets has zippers

I like the positioning of the pockets so you can access everything easily. On the compression shorts the pockets are like mid thigh on the sides so you really got to reach down in them joints or lift up the bottom of your authentics to access the pockets from below.
