When the plan is to trade one of those for a bat, it's a pretty decent move...

Oakland isn't bringing in any big-time FAs and it's not a good spot for reclamation guys on one-year + option deals. Terrible park for those kinds of guys.

Trade pitching for bats. It's smart.

I don't see Cust going anywhere. There is no way we can come back with that same offense as last year though....right?

I know Joe Morgan is part of the Reds front office so he will probably just travel with the team more than he did in the past.
Jon Miller, Joe Morgan not returning
ESPN.com news services

Jon Miller and Joe Morgan's 21-year run on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" is over.

Morgan's contract is expiring and he will not be renewed. Miller's contract is also expiring though he may remain at ESPN working the "Sunday Night Baseball" series and postseason baseball for ESPN Radio.

"Jon and Joe have contributed greatly to the success of 'Sunday Night Baseball' for the past 21 seasons," ESPN executive vice president Norby Williams said in a statement Monday. "Over the last two decades, Joe went from Hall of Fame player to one of his sport's top analysts and Jon's Hall of Fame voice and tremendous knowledge of the game have connected with baseball fans everywhere. We owe them our deepest thanks for an outstanding body of work."

Miller, the play-by-play voice, received the Baseball Hall of Fame's 2010 Ford C. Frick Award. Morgan, the color commentator, was a two-time National League MVP with the Cincinnati Reds. The second baseman was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990.

Saw  this  on a yankees board

2) Oakland starters -Rosenthal reported today that the A's are hoping to sign Japanese starter Iwakuma, and then dealing away a starting pitcher from their depth, to land a hitter. Much depends on how good of a starter the A's would be willing deal away. Brett Anderson, with perhaps, but not necessarily, an extra piece thrown in, could land them Jesus Montero. Gio Gonzalez or Trevor Cahill could make middle-of-the-rotation starters in New York too. Perhaps the Yankees would turn their attention to signing a big bat, like Werth, and then dealing Nick Swisher and a prospect back to Oakland for Cahill or Gonzalez.

He may be right smh

Crawford isn't going there. Neither is Werth. Wouldn't be smart to put that much money into Beltre to watch him not be what they paid for in that ballpark.

Who do you think they'd get to come there?
