OBLIGATORY REMINDER OF HOW GREAT PHIL HUGHES IS: He has allowed two runs in 25.2 innings of relief. His last 16 appearances: 21 innings, 11 hits, 0 runs, 4 walks, 25 strikeouts. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment came yesterday when George Steinbrenner failed to notice how long his hair is.

Back with more later.

What's the latest on Brackman? I searched the web and couldn't find anything...

Edit: Tell me these aren't his stats...

Andrew Bustman (you see what I did there) has been doing horribly...this is his first full year pitching in the minors as he had Tommy John two years ago.

Listen: It's too early to call him a complete bust. But unless Andrew Brackman -- the former future Big Unit -- figures out how to pitch, that's what we're facing with that 1st round pick they we so proud of two years ago.

A poem...

ANDREW BRACKMAN

He's tall.

That's all.

Damn...I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for this season and see how he does next season in his 2nd full season.

This is looking like one of those games where the Yankees need to find a way to get Ozzie to use his bullpen despite not being able to hit anything Gavin Floydis throwing.

Molina now on second thanks to a ground-rule double. Yankees need to score this run and put up some insurance runs.

These *^@$*@ errors by the Yankees make them look like the Mets.

Joe Girardi just took Pettitte out of the game. Understandable--he doesn't want a repeat of that meltdown against the Oakland A's.

Way to go, Andy, for letting Thome score from that *^&@$*&!@($*&@*$&($^!$&$# dribbler of a ground ball.
