Mike Woodson isn't a very good coach. He can't make adjustments to save his life, he shows an insane loyalty to some players (Kidd, JR) and buries other players. The Knicks were successful because they rained 3's this year and their defense was average.
Unless you have one of the elite guys, there's a lot of fluctuation with the rest of the coaches. It's hard to say what coach would have done a better job with this team, but Woodson is the same guy from Atlanta... so any improvement was exaggerated.
The Knicks before JR elbowed JET would've stood a better chance against Miami than these Pacers.
Honest question, but why do people feel like the elbow was the turning point for the Knicks/JR Smith in the playoffs? He's a streaky player...not exactly the model of consistency. This is the same dude who was out watching the Mayweather fight at 40/40 the night/morning before a 3:30 tip. It's obvious he can't handle playing ball in the city.
I just don't understand how you guys can so obsessively find reasons to blame everyone except for J.R. and Melo. It's like you have a pathological obsession with low-efficiency chuckers.Stop it.
You're mistaking not being Mike D'Antoni with being a strong defensive coach.
Also, per Woodson, I mean. He's better than many coaches in the league. That's the standard I would use for calling him "good" or "bad". Obviously he should have played Copeland and Novak,.. no idea what he was thinking.
I mean, look what the Nets were working with, with PJ
it was the turning point for his ego.. a dude that chucks that much doesn't give any dams.. but the league put him in checkHonest question, but why do people feel like the elbow was the turning point for the Knicks/JR Smith in the playoffs? Maybe I'm wrong, hell, I'm not going to go crazy trying to defend Mike Woodson. They were a below-average defensive team all year. Finished at 18th in the league.
Hey, I agree. Tyson's been terrible, Woodson made no sense by not putting in Prigioni, Novak, and Copeland, obviously J.R. has been useless, whole team getting killed on the boards. None of that is Melo's fault.Look, Melo definitely deserves blame. And people have been giving J.R. hell in the official thread. But we can't blame literally every single failure this team managed to accomplish on one man. That's just irrational now. Melo ain't the reason Tyson has been a shell of his former self or the reason Kidd has completely plummeted in playing form. He's also not the reason why we continue to double team when Indy's shooters have been killing us consistently.
He's definitely not innocent though....his play left much to be desired during several key games in the last series and this series. I don't think anyone can deny that.
The Pacers are the better team. Plain and simple.
Because it was the turning point
Since that suspension he has struggled. He hasn't had a stretch this bad ALL season. You know he was the 6th man of the year, right?
+ like Big J mentioned, the undying loyalty to certain guys no matter what.If you like Iso-centric offense, with a touch of stagnant pick and rolls, Mike Woodson is your guy.
Wouldn't 'eem be mad.The Pacers should wear black to the next game.

Zbo gonna guard LeBron?.
No, neither of them can guard each other
