D'Antoni Wants Lakers To Play Showtime-Type Basketball

Mike D'Antoni was introduced as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

"We would like to play Showtime-type basketball," said D'Antoni.

Dr. Jerry Buss has long wanted to return the Lakers to a more uptempo style, similar to what they enjoyed with Magic Johnson in the 1980s.

"We'll rely on our defense to win games," said D'Antoni.
