ya'll will see the truth of Dantoni sooner than later. Dude runs short rotations, doesn't develop young talent unless he's forced too, is very slow to make adjustments & has the ego of Phil Jackson with the success of Kevin Mchale...

Dantoni in the pst 5 years has publicly fueded with his franchise star/ other important pieces of the team for years. He has NO PROBLEM throwing his franchise player under the bus

Every single good coach in the league has rotation issues seemingly. It's almost par for the course it seems. No one is ever happy with their coach's rotations and if they aren't victorious, fire the coach :lol

(Not lamenting Thibs btw, minute distribution is insane)

Dwyane Wade since moving to the bench

2nd lowest turnovers per 36: 2.9 (best was 2.8 last year)
Tied highest blocks per 36: 1.4 (ties 11-12 season)
6th highest assists per 36: 5.8 (had higher between 05-09, best was 7.2. Currently higher than any superfriends year)
2nd highest rebounds per 36: 5.9 (highest was 6.2 in 10-11)
3rd worst steals per 36: 1.5 (every year is between 1.3-2.0, but his second year was 1.5 and his first superfriends year was only 1.4)

He is also shooting a career best 3 point fg of 35.7%
Since he became a reserve he is shooting 48.0% from the field which would have been good for 8th best season alone (his last season before superfriends was 47.6% but he had 3 >= 50.0% seasons in 11-14 with 54.5% as the best

By taking a backseat in shot taking, playing less minutes and playing more often against lesser players in reserves, Dwyane Wade

Hard to blame D'Antoni for feuding with Carmelo or Kobe in those circumstances, if that's what you're referring to. Lakers situation was wildly dysfunctional and remained so long after he left. Carmelo, you know...

He's gotten on just fine with Nash, Amare, Harden...

You aren't necessarily wrong about the rotations or adjustments, but he's done a fine job with young talent in the past. Look at Capela this season, for example.

I was killing Carlisle for his 3 little people lineup, I guess I'll take my L

Can we take a guess at how many assist Russ had at this point

This is why I say Jordan Brand gave Oscar a gigantic bag to get the behind the keep Russ in OKC movement (Also known as triple double avg for the season). There is no way he was honestly on board with this foolishness. Talking about I love what the young fellow is doing. I think it's amazing. Just stop.

Was more impressed with Bron avg a triple double in the finals in the FLOW of the game. Seen some people say he stat padded in game 5. If he did it wasnt obvious like it was in the video above. At that point the series was over anyway.

I guess Pringles has learned from the Kobe incident, Harden is playing the fewest minutes since he's been a Rocket

He still hasn't adjusted enough for my liking with the way he plays the young guys tho.

Pretty much, but I do think think the current scheduling has something to do with the minutes. When you’re going 3 days without playing a game, I guess you can afford those minutes. Still would like to see Qi, Jackson, and Weber get minutes and not just in surefire blowouts.

Well, this is year 2 of Houston, and before then dealt with some crappy Knicks and Lakers rosters, so I’m not sure how much merit those 5 years hold based on the circumstances.

Like, D'antoni is on pace to win 67 games this year, and we're talking about his horrid rotations

Steve Kerr's lost like 30 times in 3 years and has 2 chips and ****** kill him for his rotations

Clips were a perennial 50 win team despite injuries with doc, and people (myself included) killed him for rotations

People now starting to call for Rick's job in dallas.

I could go on lol but you get the point.

I'm convinced that other than Coach Q in Utah, there are no good coaches in the NBA :lol

When it goes sour in Houston I Guarantee the blame will be placed on James/CP and what they "did" or didn't do.

I DO NOT THINK THAT THE CAVS WANT ANY SMOKE WITH GSW COME JUNE

I'm just curious about this, on the heels of seeing how good D Wade has been off the bench.

The Cavs were actually a positive when LBJ was on the floor against GSW in the finals last season. (Which is why the premise of "letting" him give you 35/12/12 was ridiculous. It didn't even work)

What if D Wade against GSW can make sure that the cavs don't just die when LBJ is on the bench? It definitely doesn't bring them close to being favorites or anything, but it potentially addresses a huge issue that the cavs had against GSW.

(With this team in particular though, against GSW they'll miss Kyrie's 1v1 game in that setting but you'd hope a cast of Love/Bron/IT/JR could make up for it.They also have to deal with Rose coming back and tanking everything)

I actually agree with you that coaches are over-criticized and most of us as fans (and media!) don't know what we're talking about in regards to coaching.

On the flipside sometimes coaches get elevated/anointed for a short run of success for reasons that are unclear.

In regards to the Thibs thing, it's an extreme. Beyond disagreeing with the basic rotations like "you should play X more" or whatever.

Nah I totally agree with Thibs. He's literally killed careers with his method of coaching, and should be fired today.

But even still, Minny is 5th in the west right now, and haven't made the playoffs in 20 years. You could argue that in a result based business, what he's doing is working so far. (I'd disagree with this completely, and think Minnesota is really bad, but still)

I was just alluding to a broader point that it seems like no coach is good in the NBA anymore and all their rotations are horrible. There's such a callousness with which we as fans critique coaching. Like, we don't see player x in practice everyday, the coach. That's not to say that coaches are above criticism, but we gotta draw the line somewhere man :lol

no guarantee wade sustains what hes doing or even stays healthy come june
d. rose is still d.rose...which doesnt mean good things nowadays
IT coming back alleviates some of the 1v1 play but hes still coming off an injury and will be facing a top team defense in the GSW. all their guards have length and are really good 1v1 defenders

cavs could also be a different team come in june if they choose to explore trade options.

Absolutely. They've got to play some good teams to see if this version of the cavs is even legit. Wade could be eating against bad teams' 2nd unit. Time will tell.

They also have to figure out what to do with D Rose once he comes back. They can't buy him out.

But, simply put, my premise is that Golden state has no answer for Lebron and the Cavs. (At least in the last 2 finals) And the cavs are right there with him when he's on the floor. If the cavs can somehow find a way to not die when he sits, then the cavs are much closer to the dubs than one may expect and D Wade MIGHT be a step in that direction. Time will tell.

So my homies were pocketing watching LaVar and his family so I decided to look up Lonzo’s contract. Looks like the first two years are guaranteed ($6MM and $7MM respectively) but then after that the next two are team options ($8MM and $11MM). Is it standard to have the team option after Year 2? pmatic pmatic might know
Yes only the first two years are guaranteed for rookies. After that, teams exercise the option years.
