Let's keep it a buck...that 2011 Mavs squad wasn't built to repeat. I'm not holding "breaking up" that team against Cuban at all.

That team maximized the tail end of Dirk's prime by squeezing everything they could out of players like Shawn Marion, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Peja, etc.

It would have been wishful thinking to think that squad could have continued on.

IMO, if you aren't a top 4 team you aren't a contender. Out west, that Mavericks team would not have been better than OKC or San Antonio.

I don't know what team you're referring to but neither Kaman or OJ were on that 2011-2012 Mavs squad.

Vince and LO were extremely washed by that point.
