The only reason Gobert might not win DPOY is because of games missed.

The Jazz have a DRTG of 95 since he’s came back from injury.

The Heat still had the chance to get Westbrook.
Nobody’s taking Russ at 2 and Beas just had one of the greatest college years ever as a true freshman, nobody thought he’d bust like he did.

Certainly nobody was bullish enough on him and in love enough with Westbrook to trade down from #2 and take Westbrook.

Let Drummond win

Pistons need some kind of hardware

The crazy run the Jazz have been on started when Gobert came back (not a coincidence).

The Jazz have a
107.9 defensive rating without Gobert, with Gobert Its 98.2 that's like five points lower than the best team in the league. His shots at the rim and success rate on defense for shots at the rim are the same as last year.

He deserves the award.

Yup. Nobody thought Russ would amount to half of what he is today. Back in the day, he was full of red flags.
Athletic but raw, undersized for a 2, can't play PG, can't shoot etc...

Even his first 4 to 5 years the narrative was "Russ is selfish" and "using his powers for evil" lol I'm still not the biggest Russ fan, but no way he was considered for #2.

But at the same time, Bease also had red flags with his personality but Riles thought he had no choice but to choose him at 2 purely from a talent perspective.
