Ugh some sports betting site has us as the favorites to sign Lebby after last night's game:
if it's any consolation to you, betDSI is one of the worst books out there. like bottom of the barrel.

I hope Bosh is right

I just dont see how financially it would work. Pretty much the only way its going to happen is if there is a sign and trade with Bron for Anderson and contract fillers. But I have no idea why the Cavs would pay luxury tax to be a barrel scraper of a team.

That does give me comfort. Just popped up on my CBS Sports alerts.
Yeah they must have shaded their lines or something cause the odds for the Heat/Knicks make zero sense compared to the Rockets odds.

Rockets are basically the favorite everywhere, with Lakers/Sixers tied or in some order for 2nd/3rd. The reason has less to do with whether the teams give up assets and financial flexibility and moreso of where Bron thinks his ideal destination is. Teams will create cap space for him if he wants to go there.

Morey himself has said he has like 7 different ways of creating cap space for Bron.

So I'm pretty sure BetDSI is basically betting against Bron going to Houston with the way they shaded their odds with Houston at +1000

Only way Houston can get Bron is via trade correct? So if he doesn't opt into his deal before July 1st like CP0 did there's no way financially for it to work.

Trade or find someone to take Anderson and gordons contracts. Even then I think Bron would technically have to take a paycut. If I were a betting man I would put money on the Sixers.

Gotcha and CP0 would have to take a paycut ws well no, which neither he nor Bron as heads of the players union seem to be willing to do now. I just don't see financially how this works. Rockets don't have the picks either to entice anybody to take Anderson's deal.

And if the Sixers don't have a GM in place by the time free agency starts I mean that's going to be a really tough sell.

Yeah trade is basically the only realistic option

And it would pretty much have to be a three team trade. I could see maybe the Cavs trading love somewhere to get a high pick and in that instance taking back some terrible contracts, but other than that, a trade between the Cavs and Rockets seems far fetched.

So Brown is going to make the draft choice??

Brown is taking over as interim GM at the moment which is fine. They recently hired Monty Williams as the top assistant and I think they can hold their own evaluating talent. This also means that it is highly unlikely they will be doing any draft day trades.

I think the Rockets are the rightful favorite. Again, it has less to do with the financial aspect and more to do with where Bron wants to go. Morey is a genius when it comes to the salary cap. But at those odds, Sixers are definitely enticing. I'm sure the line will be drastically affected depending on who the Sixers new GM is as well.

Brian Colangelo should have resigned the day after he and his wife got caught for leaking info

Shame he lagged it out this long

Players around the league love Brett Brown, Monty Williams and Embiid...having them as the main speakers for LeBron, PG, etc instead of somebody like Colangelo controlling it could actually be a plus. And LeBron might like it even more that he could have input on the next GM.
