OFFICIAL NBA 2K19 Thread | Available Now

Trying to get actual basketball talk to become heavy in this thread (once again).

I will discuss passing. Over the years, I have heard people complain about there being too many interceptions in 2K. People hate to hear this but I will always say this falls under #UserError.

People simply don't understand distance.

I teach my kids this as well when it comes to playing REAL basketball. I broke the court down into 8 sections.

My rule is to never make a pass from one zone to another zone UNLESS that zone borders the initial zone.

I also would be safe and say to stay away from passes that cross the "equator." (But if you are experienced enough, you could make this work in certain instances)

For example, I personally wouldn't suggest making passes from Zone 1 to Zone 6. That pass would have too much ground to cover and there are too many hands that could potentially get a hand on that ball. (Pause).

I think that is simple enough of an explanation.

Try this before you cry about the passing in the game being broken.

This probably bout to be my first time not getting 2K release week... I’m not seeing anything as far as upgrades but crap about myplayer (I’m a association guy) might just go grab Spideman today

How’s the gameplay?

Have you read the MyLeague/MyGM blogs?

They were posted a few pages ago.

There are definitely a number of additions to your modes

I took two years off of not playing 2k. I'm back in it this year! I wonder if they'll be a special LeBron 16 2k version that's not too fierce. lol

Love the fact that they brought Player DNA back for the first time since last Gen and made CAP more robust. Gonna be a breeze creating complete legend rosters

Awhile back I had to come to a realization w/passing on 2K which was that I was making totally unrealistic passes that wouldn't get through in real life, and because I was controlling it, I was making the subconscious assumption that it was a realistic pass and that it should go through :lol

basically, I realized that if I wanted to be realistic, then I had to make realistic passes, and that's an adjustment because the passes that you see that are "open" in the game isn't really open in real life, when you don't have that aerial view of a video game camera.

CBA commentary takes away from the immersion a little.

Gameplay felt a little bit more weighted, but again, it's the first actual game in the Prelude. MyPlayer stats not up yet.

As far as passing....I’m just glad there are less overhead passes when the man is right next to you and more dh’os and handoffs. Directional passes and of course...smart passing needs work (per 2k18). Still hate that it’s 65/35 that if I don’t use directional pass with an obviously open guy...that it could possibly go to obviously covered guy. Alley oop animation from the passer remains awkward and horrible though. They badly need to fix that. Would also like a pocket pass option...or passing package for elite passing guys. Noticed in 2K18 that they got Steph’s left hand pass on the Pick and pop if you draw two.

Is it me or is myplayer ALOT more difficult. Can barely ******* score in the gleague

RE: Difficulty

Remember, you just got the game. It isn't the same exact game as last yea, so there are nuances that must be learned and adapted to. As I ALWAYS say, give it some time before saying it is too hard. You will get better, in time. No need to be frustrated because you can't see success in a new game.

I suggest spending some time in practice mode so you can get a better feel for the game. I know some of us just want to pick up and play but you should TRY to carve out a little time for Practice mode.

Also, resources on OperationSports should be put in your bookmarks.
