99 lockout absolutely sucked. The constant updates on ESPN to the false hope of a deal month after month. I still remember that player exhibition game in Atlantic city that was broadcast on HBO or something. Stern and Hunter going at it in the meetings.

IMO the worst thing to happen from a fan's perspective is the guaranteed tv contract for next season. The owners actually save money not having a season and they'll get the tv revenue anyway.
