I was so Naive back then. Although I was a teen I didn't understand the complex business and legal aspects of a lockout. I assumed that the players and owners were playing each other in HORSE and the winner won the lockout. I also thought that Patrick Ewing was using his post moves on the owners to win the lockout because he was the President. SMH at me.Originally Posted by pr0phecy718

In 1999 during the lockout the players wanted to raise money for charities and prove that they could essentially form their own league if need be. They had a big charity game in Atlantic City and Charles Barkley and Oscar Robinson coached the teams. The game was televised on HBO or Showtime and some say the game wasn't a bust but it wasn't a success either.Originally Posted by rck2sactown

Similar, except the game was less about the charities and more about trying to prove to the owners that the players make the league not the other way around. The game was poorly promoted and if I remember the game didn't sellout either but it was the first pro basketball we saw in months and people were excited.Originally Posted by rck2sactown
^Was it kinda along the lines of Kenny Smith's game for Katrina back in 06?
