DS Kennedys in a size 9.5 are atleast 700$. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.
You can argue that the price is too high but $500 is an excellent price for these shoes. Congrats.
Wearing 998 MD today. I feel these are so underrated , they look like a stash colab to me , what do you guys think ?

Hi. My first post here... I recently bought my first Made in USA New Balance, the 997PR from the recent restock at the http://thenextdoor.fr/. This is my second pair of NB (second to 999 from Barber shop pack) and I was really expecting a perfectly made shoe because of the Made in USA tag. And when I got them in hands I was kinda bummed because they had a glue stain and some other faults (see pictures). So my question now is was I expecting too much or was I really unlucky and got a bad pair or what? Thanks for the help!
Yeah the materials are nice. Yes, broke them out already. Really comfortable shoe. I'll just try to get my money worth with a partial refund or something because of the flawed pair.Sometimes it's luck of the draw. There will always be quality control issues no matter where things are made. I find that the 997's generally have really nice materials for their GR's. The only thing that be annoying for me would be the glue stain. You're planning to wear these anyway right?
The soles were perfectly clean, so I think that what appears to be a "wear and tear" mark may be from the shoe sliding inside the box..?
For those 997pr's, you probably got unlucky as the less flawed pairs may have been given to customers instore or even employees. It looks like there was some wear and tear on those 997s...Were the soles dusty at all or pretty clean? Of course that can be easily cleaned, but it could provide us with some idea if they were unworn or not.
Yeah, that is the thing they cost 200€. That's why I expect a perfect pair... I'll try to get a partial refund or something. A 10% off would be alright. Was quite unlucky, too with my 997 PR...some bad stitching here, some black marks on the white midsole there. Exchange impossible since long gone, so i just had to accept it which felt quite hard for a 200 Euro retail shoe.
But since i wear them heavily i guess i just have to get over it and see them what they are: one of the best silhouettes of all time with superb leather and a great colorway that makes them a daily top notch sneaker.
Love them and would Never ever Return em!
Thanks for the comment. If I return them I won't be able to get them anymore because they are sold out everywhere so there is not much left to do. Maybe if I manage to get a 10% off I will get my money worth but we'll see. I contacted NB for some info about the topic...
I signed up to NT just to reply to this specific post. I ordered the 997PR from NB.com last week and I received a pair that had a few imperfections, but more importantly, toe bubbles on both shoes, big ones. I can live with some glue spots or loose threads, but the toes were both seriously jacked. I called up NB support and explained the situation and they got a new pair out to me same day at a 10% discount. They showed up today and they are immaculate!
St. Alfred has these on sale for $190 right now so I popped for another pair that are on the way. Assuming these will be good like my others and the 1st pair was an anomaly.
I own probably 25 pair of NB and I almost never have issues with new pair. Maybe they had a couple sub-par pair slip through the cracks.
Andy
They were bought online at thenextdoor.fr. So unless NB served outlet b-grades as a restock across european retailers or it was just a pair that slipped the QC.Also could people be passing off outlet b-grades on ebay as first quality items?
1400's run big on me in general and I go tts in 998/997s so I don't get it.
Got my J Crew 1400s in, is it just me or do these run a little big? Not even sure if they will let me exchange since I used the 20% off code when it was glitching and worked on third party merch.
May just return and cop the 998 bringbacks on discount from NB.
they should let you swap no problem, i don't see why they shouldn't honor it, they are good with things like this.

Thanks for the info, no I was stupid and got trigger happy when I found out the code worked so I went ahead and ordered the 1400 in my NB TTS thinking I might miss out on the deal. Lesson learned.

In regards to the 1400 model, it is similar to the 1300 and plenty of people believe it runs 0.5 larger, did you post in the thread asking about the sizing or look at the sizing chart?
Damn good post, repped.
