Jimmy was actually featured MORE than Gronk when he was in NO

His target numbers:
44
149
135
142
125
74

4 seasons in a row of 125+ targets

Gronk's target numbers:
59
124
79
66
131
120

1 season of 125+ targets

Targets don't equal featured.

Saints used Colston, Sproles, 11 running backs (for what reason I don't understand) and I'm forgetting one other weapon they had....but Brees basically had more options. He could/should have used Jimmy even more.

Gronk (and Edelman) have been Tom's focus since Randy and Wes jumped ship. (Or were pushed)

There goes that argument :lol 8o

Dude still ain't gonna admit he was wrong though. :lol

Wrong about what? It's MY opinion.

Some rock with Gronk, I go Jimmy.
Some got Peyton, I got Brady.
Some say TO, I say Moss.
Some buy Emmitt, some buy Barry.

We're splitting hairs among elite players with different situations. Not all elite players have great coaches, or QB's, or Oline's.

There is no right, or wrong. So nothin for me to admit.

When Gronk was broken and Jimmy was killin, were Gronk guys "wrong" then?

You guys all wanna believe an answer is done and set in stone from one day to the next. But that isn't the case.

TB's well known for spreading the ball around. You also had Chico and the RB's taking targets away

Jimmy Graham was 5th in the NFL in targets in 2011.

There is literally nothing objective and fact based that indicates Jimmy Graham was featured less in New Orleans than Gronk in New England.

*Starts wiping tears thru Super Friends mentions*

The ***** playbook. :lol

What special treatment? They deleted it genius. :lol

Jimmy Graham (29 years old) --
Regular season: 434 rec, 5357 yards, 53 TD
Postseason: 16 rec, 210 yards, 3 TD
2 1000+ yard seasons. 3 10+ TD seasons

Rob Gronkowski (26 years old) --
Regular season: 380 rec, 5555 yards, 65 TD
Postseason: 44 rec, 610 yards, 8 TD
3 1000+ yard seasons. 5 10+ TD seasons

**** ain't even close anymore.

Great coaching/org really pays off for those extra postseason numbers eh? :lol

Gates is the GOAT and he has very limited playoff numbers. Same with Tony. And Witten, etc.

THANK YOU.

It's about time someone in here spews some damn wisdom. :hat

As much as I dislike Gronkowski, he's arguably the best TE in the NFL right now and I'm not sure how his body will hold up through all these injuries he's be having. I know he's not built the same way as most NFL players, but how much punishment can human being take?

I think you also have to consider the severity of the type of injuries Gronk has had the past few years. We're not talking about some sprained ankles or concussions. We're talking about blows to the joints and limbs.

Doesn't the fact Drew had more options favor Gronk? Everyone knows Gronk is getting the ball and yet can't be stopped. Numbers don't always tell the story though. See my previous post about Rice vs Irving. However Gronk is the far superior player. I'd bet the defensive players around the league will even agree with that.

Gronk in NE vs Jimmy in NO is a more apples to apples comparison then Rice vs Irving because the type of offense they both run is pass happy. Unlike the run happy offense Dallas ran. I had to throw that Rice Irving thing in there to not sound hypocritical on this Gronk Jimmy debate.

But he continues to come back from them and dominate at the highest level.

Gronk is a machine.
