This logic is nuts . If the defenses are faster and the pocket collapses quicker, then they’re also going to close in on you faster when you take off

You do know the goal is to RUN AWAY from the defender right?

So if the qb takes off as you put it he would be running away from the defense thats closing in on him

There’s also Herbert’s awareness of when to run and when not to run
NFL offenses average 60+ snaps a game so a quarterback scrambling 6 times a game picking up 30 yards is very doable
