The fact that this was a Saturday night game couldn’t have worked out any better for the league office.

After tomorrow’s games, this will probably be a dead story by Monday morning.

…or much less hot than if it had been a regular Monday night game.

Ref in the booth said even if he reported it was an illegal formation

it‘s illegal because of their screw up

if the refs make the right guy eligible, it isn’t illegal

this all flows from their screw up and they’ll never admit they screwed up

Dan Campbell tried to run one of those Belichick specials and the ref wasn’t falling for it

Two dudes approach the ref while one frantically runs on the field

Bad officiating has never hurt the league. It generates as much engagement as anything else for them 🤷🏿‍♂️

Only time it moved the needle when it was replacement refs and that was only to go back to the...originally hired incompetent refs

If you actually believe that you might be braindead

That receiver has to take a step back off the ball because the running back was never on the ball

You cant be on the ball and declare yourself off the ball
He has to physically step back and actually be off the ball

You so bias it’s kinda disgusting. Good win though
Quit whining
Ref in the booth clearly said even if he reported its an illegal formation because he’s covered

Same ref in the booth that earlier in the game said it should have been a penalty on Jordan Lewis for illegal contact
Did you have a problem when he said that?

Thanks because this tweet proves that the ref was right

#68 didn’t verbally or physically report
He walked over to the ref with another player at the same time another player was running on the field

#68 was lined up at left tackle
So the defensive players had no clue #68 was supposedly eligible

Love when everybody becomes rules experts with the definitive opinion when something like this happens. “Here’s the thing:” :lol

I wonder what the twitter refs think about this

Even with that, it seems clear the ref ****** up. You can see 68 go to the ref and talk to him. 70 runs in and never gets to talk to the ref. The ref just ****** up and got the two numbers switched up, which is why they threw the flag.

Dudes lying
Listen to Decker say Dan Campbell told him to report
He was already in the huddle so how did Dan Campbell tell him to report?
