Get the elixir if you want to be different since the parfum is real common now by people (somewhat like how aventus became the hype for everyone).
Hit up a macys and spray both on a tester strip, walk around for 10-15 mins see which smell you like better and go from there.

I had this sample since it released but had never worn/tested it. I swapped it with a friend the other week and sprayed it on. I was immediately reminded of Byredo Bal d’Afrique. I wore it to my side gig, serving tables and it was a winner.

I tend to lean towards the OG formulation of Herod. I really enjoyed the cherry tobacco sweetness note. But then it became a little to "Spicebombey" for me. I just tried Tobacco Vanille for the first time and while I really like it, I'm still interested in Chergui. Does it lean more towards the honey/sweet or spicy side?

Chergui isn't spicy at all. Definitely lots of honey and sweetness. The hay note is actually very present as well. Sounds weird but it works so well. I LOVE this stuff. Reminds me of the holiday season
