I mean with Randle's salary, you're either throwing in a draft pick or a cheap player in compensation.
Fournier's contract is a lot on top of Randle's.
Grimes is a 3 and D guy which they probably wouldn't want to part with.
IQ is also a cheap contract but he gets minutes and with Kemba essentially being banished/washed, Rose only playing limited minutes and McBride will probably get more minutes but probably not enough to displace anyone.
Cam is the guy Thibs didn't really desire and his PT fluctuated game to game even with guys being out due to injury. So I think he'd be the one gone.

You can’t deny that we’ve needed a scorer and Evan is a good fit. He has the ability to create his own shot which Q doesn’t at this point. Evan played a lot better when Randle didn’t suit up.

It’s gonna be highly unlikely that Cam would be needed to move Randle’a contract. Despite the tumultuous season, he’s still a commodity on a reasonable contract.

i dont even think i care tbh. send him home to Dallas for Brunson. this team plays dramatically different without Randle. dump Noel's contract, resign Mitch, trade Randle and Burks for Brunson or another PG, and call it an off season. we dont need to make a splash. we lost a lot of games bc of piss poor FT shooting and didnt have a PG all season. let them young guys play and we'll be straight.

No need to bring an AS back for Randle, true. He just needs to be gone & hopefully for a move up in the draft.

At the end of the day, with all the turmoil Randle has had, he still was an AS last year and put solid numbers which only 2 others put this year last time I checked.
Cam cost us a 1st rounder so if he is sacrifice it has to be for something not just ****s and giggles to move a decent contract ...

Portland just seems like a perfect destination. Since they have 2 picks potentially in the top 10 (unless Pelicans win the play in, they get to keep it) I really do think there is a trade here.

if he actually ends up getting dealt, best believe we’re taking a hit in the form of a draft pick or young asset
no team is gonna bite on the potential of his AS season with the showing he just put out
he failed as a player, a leader, and an ambassador for the franchise
cant imagine anyone dumb enough but the lakers wanting desperately to improve to bite on him with that new deal

Sorry but signing Julius Randle does not make us financially flexible. It’s literally does the opposite. We’re stuck. We’re gorilla glued to that deal unless a literal miracle happens.

The teams that will bite, he won’t have near the workload or expectations on and off the court that he had here. Plus I’m 100% sure whatever team he goes to, he’ll have a much better season.
Break up needs to happen. Don’t think we can salvage this relationship. Once the poor effort and terrible body language started, everything went down hill. You didn’t even hear a peep from his teammates giving him praise. Not a good sign.

Thats why I said borderline. Listen, I don’t like the guy as much as the next Knick fan, but I think we’re exaggerating how untradable his contract is. Hes not some injury prone past prime player that only has one skill and cant be on the floor in crunch time.
