I knew Brandon Inge will come through eventually.

-Damn dude, Inge with some high leverage at bats since he's been here.

-Weeks with a good night.
-Taylor after looking terrible all game with a huge 2b to start the 9th
-McCarthy and Cespedes is really bad news

They better both be alright, X-ray and MRI for Cespedes tonight
-Positive tho: Andersen pitching a live inning tomorrow, and Braden played long toss today...Baller

I'm convinced Josh Hamilton is on some drug/steroid/elephant tranquilizers none of us have heard of

nice outing by tyRo

graet news wrt cespedes
per slusser, no breaks, just a strained muscle in hand

Cespedes and McCarthy news made up for today's game. A split of a series against a good hitting team where your #4/5 SP go against their #1/2 isn't bad.

Barton is trash, Smith is the new DeJesus, Blevins isn't a major league pitcher.

If this team can fill these gaping holes with replacement level players, and everyone stays healthy, they'll be fun to watch for a good portion of the season.

If we had anything at 1B, Barton would have been gone long ago. This is what kills me even more about Chris Carter. Dude has every shot to take over 1B and just can't get the job done. How much longer until we get rid of his +!! also?

Kila should be starting at 1st every day, if not Gomes. Outfield should be Taylor Cespy and Reddick with Smith platooning against righties.

There is absolutely ZERO chance Billy trades Cespy. Absolutely none. This isn't the same as trading Mulder, Hudson, Zito, Cahill, Gio, etc. Cespedes is a hitter who has proven to have the potential to be a true 5-tool player. Which the A's haven't had since maybe Chavez. The next closest thing would have been Carlos Gonzalez, but we didn't really know what we had when we traded him.

This is different from trading all those pitchers too because the A's have always been able to develop decent to great pitchers for the last 15 years or so, but the ability to develop hitters escapes them. This is probably all ballpark related.

So when they finally get a guy who proves he can hit, we hold the %*+! on (Chavez, Tejada, Giambi). Especially when you can get him for Michael Cuddyer-type money. If Yoenis continues to improve, I'm more inclined to believe that the A's try and hold on and re-sign him after 4 years. A Weeks, Reddick, and Cespy core looks a lot better than just a Weeks and Reddick core.

this dude cespy is grounded...

so grab another cuban player (shouldnt be that rough wrt finding and signing), give him a good support system with cespy and lets roll

re ynoa...from 5/8

Michael Ynoa's path towards recovery from Tommy John surgery hit another delay on Tuesday. Ynoa was scheduled to pitch an inning of an extended spring training game but he suffered a set-back while warming up, according to Oakland A's farm director Keith Lieppman. Ynoa will be re-evaluated tomorrow. The 6'7 right-hander was signed to a record bonus in July 2008, but a series of arm problems have limited him to less than 10 professional innings pitched since that time. If healthy, Ynoa is expected to pitch for short-season Vermont later this year.

UPDATE (5/10): Ynoa was evaluated on Wednesday and the evaluation revealed a right shoulder strain diagnosis. According to Lieppman, the injury is unrelated to Ynoa's Tommy John surgery. The right-hander will be shut-down from throwing for a few days and will be reassessed at that point.

and dan straily mentioned by goldstein as one of his six pop up prospects

Aside from that video on YouTube  where he's throwing  w/  A's  personnel, I don't believe I have ever seen Ynoa throw.
Sooo difficult to keep tabs on him. because he hasn't played for any notable minor league team.
But he's at most only 22 yrs old so I can wait

According to the beat writers on Twitter, Bartolo has been getting worked by Detroit his whole career, which makes no sense to me.

I got home at 8, saw the score, and didn't even bother turning the game on.

Derrick Norris pulled from tonight's Sacramento game, apparent injury.
