Amazon product ASIN B005FPT38A

It's made with parts from silicondust (makers of HDhomerun Prime), using the hauppauge branding, from your needs it seems like the best solution for you.
To answer your single stream question, the first cablecards used to only be able to handle 1 tuner, the newer cablecards handle as much as the device your using handles.

S Card (single stream)   and the M Cards are called Multi-stream.  S cards arent used anymore, you could always ask your provider to make sure your getting an M Card, you only need one.

Regarding the book-size barebone system that I linked to, it used to be more expensive the prices are coming down, IMO its perfect for HTPC its powerful enough, and the right size to be in a living room type of environment.

Their has been computers in the same form factor but its more popular for nettops which is just a tower version for a netbook, which have extremely lame specs.

I dont own any of the stuff yet, but I plan to buy it to setup my media center.

I can't quote the person who told me I needed a GPU, but I'm pretty sure my CPU has onboard graphics.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a complete noob when it comes to PC's.

the cpu does but the motherboard you selected doesn't support onboard graphics (notice the lack of hdmi, dvi, or vga ports on the board)

Could someone help me out?

Would you guys say this is worth $370 (I got a $50 gift card)? It's for my parents and it's just going to be used for internet, looking at pictures, etc. (no gaming or anything). My price range is around $400 but I'm willing to spend more if this isn't going to be reliable enough. Thanks guys.

build your own & save money.

however, i'd pick this gateway>>>> that hp tho.
better cpu/gpu(A6>>Pentium 630)
more HD space( 1TB>750GB)
USB 3.0 support
& its $30 cheaper. Only thing the HP has over it is that it has Wifi & the Gateway doesn't.

you're going to need an adapter for the 24 pin MoBo cable, or else it won't turn on.

i cannot remember the name of it right now, or you can use this:

http://www.newegg.com/Pro...spx?Item=N82E16899261023

PSU won't turn on unless the 24pin adapter is connected

About how much do you think it would cost to build a computer with similar specifications to that gateway or hp?
