My main reason I want Dems to have a super majority is because GOP obstructionism. And i have listed plenty of other reasons why I want it.
Lastly, not all Dems are the same, they come in all different flavors, and compromises have to be made within the party too.
Checks had balances can still exist with a one party super-majority. Especially if it is the Dems

There was a legit reason to be suspicious. The 2016 election doesn't look like it will even be close, either in the electoral vote or the popular vote. It is clear who the people of the country want as president. Or more appropriately put as far as this election is concerned who they don't want as president.

GOP takeover of Congress was due to much lower voter turnout than during the general which we've acknowledged at nauseam; and the GOP suppression and gerrymandering of districts to put the constituency to their advantage. You really think people want Congress NOT to do their job? And funny thing is according to polls voters would prefer a Democratic Congress right now.

The nuclear option doesn't get rid of a filibuster completely Lil Eddy. If lowers the number of votes needed to end one.
And I said i was comfortable with the GOP being able to use it if they gain power. Guess you missed that part.
And i guess you didn't pass Government in High School. If the president and Congress disagree and the President vetoes a bill what is that. Kinda like how Obama and Dems disagree with the TPP and the suing of Saudi Arabia. And look at the public option was killed. Or what if the Supreme Court deems a law unconstitutional.
Checks and Balances are built into our system of government, they still exist even with a super majority.
And like I said, not all Democrats are the same. Even the party platform was a compromise between different factions of the party.
