the FTX/SBF situation & all the ties it has to the Dems/Ukraine is surely all coincidental

I can’t believe I’m responding to the text transcription of a /pol/ meme…

What connections? SBF was a donor… ok. Anything better than that?

Because it doesn’t seem like FTX kept books clean enough to tell the new CEO what they *own* so I’m not sure where people are finding evidence of collusion with Ukraine.

 Embarrassing the amount of people parroting this and say how no one is talking about it as they talk about it.

What would Ukraine even be colluding on? They're fully occupied with ensuring their own survival. I don't think they're banking on crypto scams saving them.

I am inclined to agree. I feel like this only perpetuates the belief that rich and powerful people never have to pay for crimes they commit. He's clearly knee deep in at best, incredibly shady **** financially. In addition, one of the worst crimes most people can imagine is to incite an insurrection or overthrow a democratic society, and he attempted to have his supporters do both.
Right out in the open. Shamelessly.

If we're all just going to forget about that and he doesn't have to answer for it, what's the point? I get that there are other things happening, but now it actually feels like Democrats were never going to seriously go after him. Disappointing and deflating.

This energy is probably better spent towards grassroots efforts to elect more Dems, but how is anyone supposed to have full confidence in them?

Seems like Trump could actually shoot someone in public and all they would do is discuss possibly forming a committee to maybe look into his activities one day 4 years from now.

the only way to break that cycle if society itself involves itself inorder for change to happen. sadly, it is only the west that hasn't gone thru drastic measures inorder for change to happen. as long as we conform to the principles of so-called civility that people in power will always be untouchable. you want change, you have to become a vicious leader. decades later and we are still fighting widespread racism with almost half the population in support of it.

I understand where you're coming from. I don't know that mob justice is the answer, that would make us almost the same as these lunatics who push election lies and seemingly are okay with making the president a dictator.

My bigger issue is this: There are real, actual factual mechanisms in the law to convict Trump and his ilk now. Nobody is asking them to work some miracle and create a law and retroactively say he broke it.

He has trampled all over the law, ignored subpoenas, and made a mockery of the entire justice system. Letting this dude flip the bird to everyone is embarrassing. What else does he have to do?

He most likely sold state secrets to foreign entities, but the clown is walking free because of the influence he has over an unpatriotic mob that stretches from cart pushers to legislators. He should have been handcuffed to the boxes of documents the FBI took from MAL.

that is exactly the reason why society needs to get involved. we don't like society to end like your typical maga crowd but they have to act if leaders won't do anything. the lack of accountability is what strengthens the likes of these criminals including their supporters. notice once these individuals starts getting rounded up that they begin to sing a different tune. trump's rights for example should be even suspended considering he is suspected of overthrowing the government just like any terrorist and should be behind bars until proven that he is not guilty. now, if we don't want society to get involved, another alternative is a military take over.

It's a very pessimistic view, but I hope people like Sarah Kendzior are wrong. Essentially, they're of the mind that nobody in our government really cares enough to go after him. Also some twitter threads insinuating Merrick Garland is close with people from the federalist society are disturbing. Would be nice to be proven incorrect

That wouldn’t be shocking. All these dudes grow up in similar networks, go to the same elite colleges and universities and go to law school together. I’ve seen my white colleagues be able to separate their politics and world views in a way that I just wouldn’t be able to do. Your politics say too much about who you are as a person, and more specifically about how you see me and people who look like me.

From that same author, she claims if you go on Twitter and start saying negative stuff about Garland, instantly bots show up and start spouting the same things about him convicting the OKC bomber. Which is...disturbing?

We gotta begin to accept the fact that Trump is gonna skate. On everything. Nothing is going to happen to him, folks.

I refuse to believe it takes this long to indict someone who has clearly committed crimes. If it hasn’t happened yet it ain’t happening, sadly.
You right. We're getting Mueller'd again

Time to put my attention elsewhere
