Nah. Maybe you believe you do, but your argument is unconvincing to me, by any measure.Rusty I respect your level headedness and I know I get mad but this time I do have a case,
Once you get into the policy, there is a reason I have a grudge. Mostly because Biden could have forgiven FFEL loans and Perkins loans. There is literally a statute in section 20 U.S.C. 1082(a)(6) of the 1965 Higher Education Act that allows him to forgive those bank loans but he got scared so they went in the opposite of that approach and denied those loans forgiveness to take this approach with the heroes act. They incorrectl thought they could get it off easier by not angering the banks and now no one will have forgiveness. These bank backed loans were part of Biden’s stall either so people have been paying them nonstop too.
Why Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Faces A Rocky Road
Roxanne Bland reviews the details behind President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan and questions whether the president has the authority to forgive student debt.www.forbes.com
But it goes deeper than that I can tell you right now how they could get around this. Simply create a repay options that forgive that amount and more. Go nuclear and say **** it if you can’t afford it we will make payment plans that essentially forgive the loans based on being in a income based plan that doesn’t need any payment and unlike the current plan we don’t tax that amount as income once it’s forgiven. Lesson the public loan service forgiveness to 5 years instead of 10. I am a big believe these loans held by the government shouldn’t accrue interest. There are options here.
Democrats should pack the court, for many reasonsAlso, yes Dems need to start talking about packing the courts because let’s be honest here. All the ****ery we’ve seen by these backward state governments is because they strongly believe the SC will back them up if the federal government tries to make them abide by federal law. Iowa is trying to outlaw gay marriage because they think the SC might go around federal statute law protecting it. We got mass book bannings because the federal government is scared to step in for the first amendment because they don’t know if the SC will judge against them. This loan forgiveness is a symptom of a much bigger problem that the Dems need to begin to contextualize for their voters. State rights do not supersede the federal government. We fought a whole war over that yet this SC seems to think different.
Absence? What absence? His absence in the travel issues, train strike and train derailment. Dude just doesn’t seem like he cares.
If this was a private sector job heads would be rolling or he’d at least have a fire lit under him.
He needs to double down and keep Mayor Pete. It’s sad what happened but there is a direct line from what happened to the Trump administration and the Republicans. We need to stop letting clowns like Greene and other Republican scums frame the issue and take the high road when they never do. Kev could get a rail safety bill passed through the house that would be passed by the Senate today if he wanted but they don’t care about governing . It’s rich seeing these Republican clowns clutch their pearls about Ohio when the local and state governments in those states are too busy legislating women’s bodies than caring about their own people. This is a Rich Republican vs MAGA Republican fight. Rich Republicans pushed for deregulation to get more money in their pockets while poor MAGA republicans that want to own the libs said nothing. Now that MAGAs are hurt they want government to function when they cosigned Rich Republicans doing what they did.
Yeah this seems silly and petty to meHim not saying enough also what almost happened with the trains. It’s a bad look for Biden to break a strike and you gotta be out here in times like this at least trying to reassure people of something.
You work for the public you should be out in public in an emergency IMO.
I saw a reporter ask him a question about the train derailment and dude basically told her to F off he’s off the clock. Come on man, you might not want to speak on it but it’s something that comes with your job.
You'd be a great boss. You'd roll with your people and fire them if they need to be fired but you would do so not because other people that don’t mean well or had bad intentions told you to. Notice who most of Pete’s critics are? Do any of those people strike you as well meaning individuals that actually care what happened or are they just desperate to make Dark Brandon look bad?Well my wife always tells me I’d be a horrible boss so can’t say you’re the first person to tell me I’m petty with no patience.
You are saying he should lose his non-political job for political reasonsWell yeah I hear who most the people are, but you can still criticize and not be maga.
Politics is optics too though, that’s the thing. Dude is good at public speaking and can roast people when he needs to. Get angry, fire shots at people who created this mess. All of it not just the train derailment.
There's this strain of Mayor Pete hate that I don't understand.
a lot of it seems to come from former Bernie people.
