We can all rest easy tonight

"YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT,” wrote the rapper in the comments section of a Baller Alert Instagram post."

"melted creamcicle" 😂😂😂 I like that one.

*Me reading the top comments and nodding in agreement*

Between the renewed focus on stealing taxpayer money to fund religious schools, where 1+1+1=1, the refusal to invest in R&D (outside of the defense industry), and our "do as we say, not as we do" attitude in foreign affairs, we are definitely positioning ourselves to stay relevant on the world stage in this century.... /s

It's scary to look at what some of our people's priorities have become, and they're dragging us all down with them.

Definitely recognized that shutting down the government before an election would be self political Sabatoge by the Republicans.

IMO,

Religious fundamentalism and anti-woke policies in red States won’t undermine technological innovation in the US, we already are importing talent from around the world. So as tragic as a kid’s education being diminished to accommodate the ignorance and prejudice of adults, it’s not like it’d be cutting off a major source of human capital for US firms, research universities, and other US based institution who do STEM work.

The biggest reason why China is pulling ahead of the US is, in my view, largely driven by short-termism and a very high degree of financialization in both publicly traded companies as well as in nominally for-profit institutions.

Boeing is a great example. It used to be run by engineers who took pride in their workmanship and genuinely wanted to make the safest, fastest, and overall best planes in the World. Now, it’s run by financial engineers, whose primary goal is to pump up share prices for a little while and cash out and repeat the process elsewhere.

Basically we have CFOs (on behalf of share holders) wrecking companies that had been built up by engineers and scientists. So in this environment, R&D will consistently get stinted in favor of stock buybacks.

So as much as I’d love to put Ron DeSantis and all politicians like him in a spaceship bound for the sun (they should be happy, there’s no Black superhero media on the Sun after all). It’s not the anti education/low trust right doing much damage, in this respect. It’s well educated, urbane, MBAs who are reducing the US’ long term competitiveness in technology.

That’s what elon’s investment was for. The top of the Republican ticket has already said they dont mind lying. And they know some of their supporters will believe it, while the others will know they’re lying but won’t care.

Jesus Christmas!! Can't someone just slap a defamation suit on his ********? It's just showing how freaking desperate they are that the DNC candidate for VP is just a good guy and they don't have dirt on him.

They can't even do their duet digging properly to see if the time-frames line up. Such ******* idiots.

I don't know why people are posting polls like they mean anything right now. It's like trying to forecast the weather that is weeks away.

Plus, the NYT/Siena polling was off in 2020.

I'm more focused on registration and turnout data at this point. Trump's getting killed in the ground game and fundraising. That Sienna poll had Harris +5 in AZ pre-debate, now Trump +5 post-debate (682 people surveyed). Those numbers don't really shake out unless you meet in the middle and consider it a toss-up. But I find it hard to believe in a large poll Trump trended up post-debate.
